How much was the I/P harness for the hud SUV's?

Best price I found was around $340. I'll post it's p/n along with the HUD cluster visor in cocoa.

Not a great pic, but the Denali visor cutout for the HUD is indeed larger than the collision detection cutout.

I looked at my truck and a Yukon side by side and it looks like the defroster panel is interchangeable but there's no way to tell for sure without measurements or buying one to try out.

In the pic, I don't see a spot for the forward collision alert unit. Wonder if the HUD takes care of that in its place.

Yes, GTPprix has confirmed that the HUD does both.

Good pics. Lot's of obstacles to make this happen on the trucks...the biggest might end up being the wiring to the switch and HUD unit itself. I'm starting to feel more like the visor and defroster panel might work. One of us will just need to go for it..

I think the biggest obstacle is going to be making it look good. If we can get that harness, we can source the connectors and that cable.

One more thing before I forget. Those of you doing Denali Cluster conversions with us, this IS something we can set it up for if you choose to do it later. It WILL have DTC's in the cluster however they wont set any visible indicators. There is more programming involved but its totally doable and have used this scenario for a few people over the years; just another thing to think about :)

I stopped and looked closely at a Tahoe dash and compared to my Sierra. I'm pretty certain the dash visor from the Tahoe will not work on the pickups. The pickup visor fits in a well defined recessed groove where as the suv extends beyond where the pickup visor sits. The suv's have no defined recessed groove so if we tried to put the suv visor on our pickups it would definitely not fit or look right imo..Good news is I have a feeling the SUV Defroster grille for the HUD model has a good chance of working, so we wouldn't even need the visor. Does anyone have a hud model SUV you could pop the visor off so we can get a good look at the defroster grille?

So the ends of the USB cable I ordered don't quite fit. The bulky ends keep it from going in. I may try to remove some of the material unless someone knows of a slimmer version.

Where did you source the cable from? The dealer?

No, from Amazon. It's the right USB type, just the over molding around it is too large. The OEM USB cable with the correct connectors is part of the I/P harness as well. I wonder if GM uses that same USB in other areas where it might be a stand alone cable.

Do you think the I/P harness would take care of all the wiring needs? $321.00 through gmpartsdirect.

Guys, contact gen5diy tell them I sent you, Ofer will hate me but there is no one I would trust more to make these harnesses and they definitely will be less than $300 LOL

    • Did you even read this article?   Even the title of the article says "U.S.-Iran Deal Doesn’t Mean a Swift Return of Oil and Gas Flows"   Remember, crude oil prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the oil companies.  Gas prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the station.  This article stated that many of the oil producing nations have to restart their processes to get the oil produced.  Then the oil has to be shipped to wherever.  And it doesn't get there overnight.  And most of that oil is not coming here. Check out this site:  https://afdc.energy.gov/data/10621   A graph will pop up to show where the US imports their oil from.  Notice that there isn't a lot of import from OPEC and Iraq.  Most of the US import comes from Canada. The US oil produces are selling their oil on the open market, which is why the US fuel costs went up.  So you're correct, the US oil companies are going to slow walk the price downward.

    • I just purchased a 2004 Tahoe with 148,******. I used to have a 2006 Suburban that had the push button Auto 4X, 2Hi, 4Hi and 4Lo. When checking out this truck I noticed it had push button but didn’t focus on it. After the purchase when driving home, this is when I noticed it was different and after a little research found out it has the AWD stabilitrak system. I don’t live in an area that requires AWD. I bought the truck to start a new adventure in life with off roading, now that the kids are all grown up. I purchased the truck knowing it didn’t have the G80 rearend but plan on re-gearing to drive on 33s or 35s and upgrade with a rear locker and still be able to tow when needed. Blah Blah Blah Anyway I know am thinking about converting the stabilitrak  to Z71. I know I will have to replace the transfer case. So now the information gathering stage is happening to see if it is worth it. Is the front AWD stabilitrak differential different when compared to a non-AWD front diff? Will I need a completely different front differential or can it be converted? What else should I be considering? I did see something in a video for GMT900 platform with removing the ABS fuse that disables the stabilitrak and turns the truck into a 2 wheel drive. Would that work in the GMT800 platform?
