LMAO.....

$5 is a cheap investment to make instead of shelling out 1K for an exhaust you end up regretting later.

Wildlyfe thanks a ton for the vids and your time.??

Who am i kidding i love mashing the gas pedal. I dont need an excuse.

If you listen to the video closely when i pull out my driveway it has a slight high pitched tinny noise. Only when i really get on it around 3K-4K RPM and stops after 4K. It isnt anything loose or close to touching anything from what I can see I was under the truck tapping and wiggling everything. I think I'm just hitting the resonant frequency of something mabey the heat shield next to the trans or just the whole exaust.

If anyone one else can chime in if that is normal or not. Or thinks i'm on the right track. I would appreciate it. It does not really bother me. It is only for a short period though the RPM range that is what leads me to belive i'm just hitting the resonant frequency of something.

Also you can hear the valves with the headers in and the exaust pulsing in the LT headers. I almost thought is was a leak it takes a little getting used to but now i like it. Only when standing next to the front of the truck you can hear it. Cabin is pretty quiet unless you get on it. You can feel a little vibration on the floor board from the headers as well.

Thank you that sounds great, probably a fine line whether it's too loud or not. Love the tone my borla has now but nice to have just a little more volume. I feel like I did hear that sound you mentioned.

How do you guys with no cats go through emissions test with your truck? Or do your states have no emissions test?

I don't live in California, but here in Maryland we have to go to emissions test every 2 years, how about you guys?

I still have the stock exhaust on my truck but yeah no emissions in Indiana. I have seen guys in emissions states swap before testing to pass on some vehicles. As I've gotten older though I don't like the smell so I'll be getting headers with cats on my truck.

On my cars though, I still go catless for the sound and has to flow better. Don't get driven near as often so not worried about fumes on those.

Here's how I see it. Get lucky amd they don't visually inspect or it is not part.of the inspection procedure i their area. Know someone. Some states don't mandate emissions if you drive under a certian amount of miles. I personally went with hi-flow cats. Not worth the hassle for me.

So what headers and y pipe do you have?

Did you get any check engine light with your high flow cats?

ARH long tube 1 7/8, and ARH hi-flow cats. They come on the Y pipe. Its a whole package the y pipe is only 2 or 3 hundered more.

Yes check engine light for sure. The tuner deleted the rear O2's. When he did the custom tune. I will tell you the tune turned my truck into a beast.

Is this the exact setup you have?

Does it look exactly like the one pictured with the clamps on the y pipe?

The reason I ask is because I'd like to know, can you easily unbolt the section of the y pipe that runs under the transmission pan only, without having to unbolt the entire y pipe, from the passenger side and from the OEM cat back location?

I would like a y pipe that is easy to unbolt from where it runs under the transmission pan, to be able to drop the transmission pan to do a filter/fluid change. Will this work with this arh headers y pipe, and if so with that piece of the y pipe out, would there definitely be enough room to completely drop the transmission pan?

Any way you can take a picture of your y pipe connection as it runs under the transmission pan. Thank you.081f59ff99fe23861b2ca0c92d1846f8.jpg

How long does it take for the check engine light to come on?

If I were to clear the code, would I have enough time to run the truck through emissions before the light comes back on?

Also did you see my last question about unbolting the y pipe were it runs under the transmission pan? Thanks.

That is the exact set i have. Not sure if you could clear the code for that long and go through emmisions. As far as unbolting the Y-pipe all the bolts are pretty accessible. Another option is O2 stimulators that you could install on the rear O2 sensors. You could possibly leave in the stock cats and switch back to the hi flows for emissions test. To me it would be easier to just get a mailorder tune from blackbear than go through all of that.

    • I'm also waiting to see if they confirm Apple CarPlay, because I'm not interested in subscription fees just to use the hardware I already purchased.    In closeups it looks like it gets the Colorado/Canyon center screen based headlight controls which I despise. They also appear to lose all the hard switches for functions like seat heating and cooling, parking sensors, lane control, traction control, etc. which means they're all screen/menu based, so verdict is out on how well those will work with gloves or wet/dirty hands.  Admittedly they don't show the left knee area of the dash, but I don't see hard switches for locker control on the ZR2, and the "mode" switch appears to eliminate the rotary dial with a quick way to access tow/haul.  My 2021 has had multiple screen failures and at times the screen just locks up, goes black, or reboots while driving even after replacement, so loosing the ability to access many of these functions, especially lighting control would be pretty frustrating.   There aren't enough photos or detailed trim details other than one mention of "available microfiber trim" to confirm, but the use of microfiber on the seats and or center console is a deal killer for me.  Just because you drive a ZR2 or High Country, doesn't mean you don't work out of it, and that material is difficult at best to keep clean and looking decent.   Lexus and several other brands are using it on seats, dash, and door panels now, I assume as a cost and weight saving measure,  and it looks horrible 1-2 years into ownership.  I see what appears to be piano black on the doors and center console in some photos, which also has no place in ANY vehicle in my opinion because it mars and scratches too easily, especially for a truck.  Will be interesting to see what GMC comes out with when the Sierra is released as far as materials go.
    • Im a fan.  Simply moving the screen up helps the look of the interior.  I feel like GM dropped the ball on the current gen having the screen not at the same level as the top of the gauge cluster.  The GMCs look better with the vents above the screen to close that gap.
    • I hear you, its just not something one would even think of that the new oil in the container isn't filtered to a spec one would expect it to be.    As to a passenger vehicle theme and the maintenance requirement to meet to ensure a warranty is honored, these days with claims of life time transmission fluid on some models and the limited amount of oil changes that would bring one to the end of the factory warranty, that sells vehicles for those that like to hear "easy care maintenance free", but the manufacturer certainly knows different as to what that more than likely means for the longevity of some of the components if given that minimum spec maintenance. Then again I imagine there are a fair number of people that really don't care as long the vehicle gets them a certain number of years down the road because they are the type that want the next new thing, new and improved ... more bells and crap etc on the new one on the show room floor. Manufacturers have learned the phycological game to entice the customer out of their money !
    • Why soooooo many screens? Shall we just replace the windshield with a large plasma?!?!? Besides that I like the looks. And they added back the additional door cubbies,    No SS???
