Anyone have any tips on taking the handle off of the bezel to make painting easier?

I had mine out to replace with a color matched aftermarket handle which turned out to be of poor quality so I am going to paint the factory one as well. The aftermarket one had a c clip on the end of the pivot pin holding the handle to the bezel making it easy to remove however the factory pin is smashed flat on the end so my plan is to grind or cut that off and drill a hole for a cotter pin to keep it together after reassembly.

Bingo. Oem handle has to have the pin cut off and replaced with a nut and bolt.

Happen to know what size bolt and how long? Just got it back from paint today

Not sure off hand. Just take the handle up to your local parts store and see. I'd use a nylon locking nut for safety. Maybe even a dab of blue loctite.

Got it back together and the dealership that painted it didn't even get the match close even after using the camera.

i'd go sooner than later. get your complaint on record. or at least call them and send them the photo.

They used the camera and took the code. I don't know what they did but that doesn't even look like the same color.
