Have stock Bridgestone AT on 18's and keep them between 38-40 when cold. Try not to run over 42-43 while warm.

35x12.5 r 20 Toy RT at 35 psi per Toyo.

I called gave them the stock tire size and make model and the conversion chart calculates to be at 35 psi. I thought it sounded low so I put 40 in and gradually tried lower psi and have been at 35 psi for 2 months with perfectly eave tire wear and ride it great.

I called Toyo after getting my R/Ts and they recommended 47.

On an unloaded 1/2 ton??

Running LT275/65R18 KO2 E-Loads. Running 45 Front, 40 rear cold. Hot during the day they get up to about 49 front 43 rear. Stiff butt ride my friend...Smooth ride but road bumps are rough. My truck officially drives like a truck. I've been tinkering with the idea of doing 43 front 40 rear cold. See what that does.

Why are people staggering tire pressures in unloaded trucks, weight of the engine compared to the bed?

Per the Toyo manual I am running 45psi in all 4 on my LT305/55R20

On empty pickup most weight on front axle. Scale the pickup and base psi on axle weights. That is why many of us stagger psi.

I like to keep mine in the low 40s, I live in South Florida and I'm constantly on the turnpike literally 80% of the time to and from work 5 days a week and sometimes down to the keys almost 2-3 times a month. I got an EcoMeter to gauge my instant mpg's and definitely saw a different between running high 30's and low 40's. Enough of a difference that I keep it there all day at 42.

BFGoodrich KO2 LT275/70R17

40psi front

37psi rear 45-55psi when towing

I drive a lot of highway miles at 70-80mph and I noticed the rears were wearing heavily in the center of the tire. Dropping the 3psi seems to help. But I tend to do a few burnouts now and again, which doesn't help. Also I don't rotate my tires. The fronts wear very evenly.
