Best LED headlights?

Recommended Posts

Bought and tried the Morimoto "plug and play" and they were all plug but no play. The female end was too long causing them not to get current. so i sanded down the end and then they got current. After that they would sometimes turn on first try, but usually i had to flip the switch 25 times and theyd still turn on for 5 seconds than back off. After that i tried to install the antiflicker and they didnt work at all...

So i am returning them.

Im wanting LED because as of right now i have stock headlights, no projector and dont want to blind everyone and LED has a bit better projection.

LED OEM? Are you meaning the HID Ballast design?

Why not go OEM LED? If you watch CL I have seen them go as low as $200 a housing undamaged. People parting these trucks just want to move the parts and don't ask too much.

I was wanting to just get led to somewhat match my rigid fog cubes. Eventually I want to buy some nice headlights, but they are very expensive.. so I'm not really trying to buy the oem housings and leds to later just change again

Confused.. I'm talking about leds. He's referring to leds that come in certain factory setups

You need an led canbus eliminator. Kind of like an hid error eliminator but for leds. Not an led resistor. This will make them function like they should, I'm using Auxbeams f-16 led bulbs for low beams and they shine as bright as my 35watt hids in my Anzo projected Headlights

Buy the right headlights, don't be that guy. You are still going to be blinding everyone with LED's. Lifted truck (do I see some cali lean in the sig pic?) and LED's that are many more times the output of the stock headlights means no one else can clearly see except you...

Besides, LED's can have splotchy uneven coverage since the light output from the bulb is from a few small diodes, not an equal light spread like the stock bulbs and what the housing is designed for.

No the 16-17 OEM GM headlights are now LED. Problem with this is you would have to do a whole front end swap so its not piratical.

For 16'/17', Only LTZ and above trims get LED.

My 16' LT Z71 has HID. Co-workers 16'LTZ has LED.

No substantial difference other than HID/LED.

My 2016 LT has HID

Thats correct. The sierra SLE & HD trucks have HID and the SLT/Denali/All terrain have LED

Except that the OP has a 2015 which has completely different headlight housings. He would need to convert the entire front end to use the 2016/2017 LED headlights.
