Ok GM, lets get this High Desert under control.

I was browsing the local lot the other day and saw the Avy throwback High Desert for the first time. I was impressed and dissapointed in a few ways.

The Good.

1. A good hard tonneau cover. The removeable panel idea is first rate to me.

2. The boxside storage. Finally a pickup with storage where it is useful. Love this option.

3. The High Country interior trim. The classiest interior offered in a truck by far.

The bad.

1. The fake roll bar. Remember when the Avy was made from the Suburban chassis? This roll bar looking area was needed for structural integrity. Now it is a wast of mone, decreased rear visability

2. Let spend the money saved on the fake bar to make a badge that says High Desert. Putting the High Country badge on this truck makes no sense. If I buy a HC I will remove the badge anyway, but come on.

3. The fake roll bar. Ugh. fill that area with a bigger or second box side storage area.

4. How about a 6.5' box version?

5. White. I just want 2 process base clear paint. None of this fluffy tri- stage stuff.

Love GM trucks. Keep up the good work.

High Desert isn't excusive to High Country hence why they called it what they did. Its available on LT, LTZ and High Country trim levels.

4. How about a 6.5' box version?

I'd be willing to bet they made it out of leftover Avalanche stuff and the Avalanche was around a 5ft8" box.

You can get it on other colors...

"Finally"? I love my GMC, but let's acknowledge that RAM has had this option for at least five years, maybe more.

Right on, I meant a modern GM.

You missed one "Good":

The High Desert comes with Magnetic Ride Control (it's the only Silverado package where you can get it).

And one "Bad":

Since they added the MRC why didn't they add the Denali digital cluster?!?!

Yeah I think that's only with the High Country version, not the LT/LTZ.
