This MPG was from one of my first trips, my lifetime mileage at over 30,000 miles is almost 22MPG and that includes all kinds of driving!

Those mpgs are amazing - do you have any mods? I have leveling kit and ko2s and still get great mpgs on the hwy. here's a shot from last weekends trip to the lake

Thank You! No mods, I was thinking about the GM air intake. Your truck is also getting great mileage considering the mods. My buddy has a Tundra and when he follows me to pheasant camp doing the same speed on the same roads he gets 15/16, that's a huge difference!!

To get good gas mileage you have to learn how to drive carefully, most people are not going to drive that way. Some cannot even if they try LOL. This mostly city stop and go traffic with lots of remote start cooldowns. I would expect closer to 30mpg than 20mpg on a long road trip.

That’s crazy - I’m only getting 17 or 18 on a 2015 with the V-8

Your truck has a built in training device, set the display to the 25 mile range mileage setting and start practicing on what driving style gets good mileage. You will greatly improve the mpg. Your blasting away from the redlight and squealing tires and then stomping down on the brakes HAS TO STOP LOL

Great advice for sure but I just don't agree with getting near 30mpg. I did 60mph on a flat road for a little over 25 miles, most of which was in 4 banger mode. The DIC got up to 25.2mpg I believe. Whether or not thats accurate is another debate, but I dunno, I think saying expecting closer to 30 mpg is misleading to anyone thinking about purchasing for that reason. I do agree that 19-20mpg (per the DIC) is somewhat achievable in city with stop lights, however you've gotta be doing a decent length trip and not in rush hour. On really bad traffic days where I am sitting at stop lights for a couple cycles, the mpg quickly drops to 16 or 17 max.

Nonetheless, these trucks surely do get great MPG when driven properly under at least somewhat ideal conditions as you've showed us many times!

PS - what made you get a new one? Any particular reason or do you just like get a new vehicle? Lease?

Glad to hear you are so satisfied with your truck uplandpa, I feel the same way about mine - but wish I could say I've had zero issues with it!

Great to hear positive feed back. Mine has been great also. Only thing I have had done was radiator and thermostat replaced. Since that been awesome truck. I think the Silverado and Sierra are hands down the nicest looking trucks.

Haha well I am feeling like 26-27 mpg is going to be easily achievable on this 2017. I mean chit it is only a 6000lb 420hp behemoth shaped like a brick. I bought the new truck cuz I wanted a Blue truck and this Ultimate had a few extra features that my 16 Denali did not have. I like the TriMode steps and the looks of the Ultimate. Was nothing at all wrong with the 2016 Denali it was actually a totally awesome truck. I always pay cash so I just fork over a few grand to do a deal when I get ready. Having clear title in hand makes it much easier to sell the old one plus negotiate the best price on the new truck. The way i figure it is if I do not have cash in my pocket to do a deal, I cannot afford it.

I was really curious when I bought this 2017 if it would get the same mpg as the 2016 which was almost identically equipped. The verdict is YES it will and maybe even better after it gets broken in a bit.

Now my biggest decision is what exhaust system to go with this time around. (Probably another GM Borla as I was pretty pleased last time) This absolute silence is KILLIN ME. You never know I might actually keep this one a few years. Best one yet "Good Work GM"
