Welp... Got into a accident couple weeks ago, really bummed out about it. I was merging onto the freeway and this lady did not like how slow I was getting on I guess (towing about 10k) she cut me off, I had to avoid her and lost control of my trailer and could not recover. She kept going of course. I am completely unharmed which is most important but man I am going to miss my truck, just dropped some money getting it all dialed in. Insurance was very generous, so I will be getting another truck here soon, really wish they still made iridium metallic though, beautiful color. I have 3 options, get a good deal on a 17 once 18's roll in, wait for the 18 or see what they do on the 19's (if I can manage to wait that long) or option 4 find a used iridium metallic same specs (fingers crossed) Someone is going to get a very nice 6.2L whenever they hold that auction! Now to find another color I like if option 4 fails.

Oh man thats rough. Please invest in a decent hard wired (< easy) dash cam. You could have gotten her plate number and her action on camera.

Sorry about the accident and I'm happy no one was hurt. Sounds like you have opportunities and choices! One thing that occurred to me was the size and load of your trailer. If you frequently haul heavy loads maybe include 3/4 tons in your search. I've only owned one 3/4 ton GMC. It was a little rough for daily driving but it handled heavy loads much more confidently than my 1/2 tons.

Glad you're ok. Nowadays we need dash cams. People love to change their stories, hit and run, uninsured motorists and so on

Glad you are alright and sorry about your truck. People don't realise you can not brake or maneuver suddenly while towing. Have had a moment or two where some clown pulls a stupid move and I nearly run up their arse or clout another car or barrier.

Agree that a dash cam is something that you should consider. When my finances permit am going to purchase one.

A shame that this happened with a new model less than a year away and your truck being ideally setup for you. Hope situation with current transportation needs permits you to buy something you won't regret later. My thoughts are wait until price on the 2019 new body comes down from initial 2-3K off sticker or full sticker price. Before I bought my 2011 LML I waited 2 years and commuted in my old 94 Bronco to save up a good down payment. Though it wasn't as nice as my 08 Z71 saving 500+ a month plus insurance was good.

Glad your ok. Another reason not to modify too much with what insurance won't cover. Bet your thankful that your truck was built tough. Had it been a Prius....

Well, you couldn't pay me to drive a first gen of a new style. I'd go with a 17 for sure.

That totally sucks. Glad you are OK, that's the most important part. I love Iridium too, would have gone with that had my FIL not already had it.

Yeah, I'll have to see. I may get into a 17 snd trade up if i feel i need the 19. My dad has a 16 Denali and I know he cant wait for me to get my own truck again haha, using his a lot ever since the accident.
