Quick Tire Size question

Brand new here and sitting at work and don't have a ton of time to search the threads. I just got a 2017 Chevy 1500 LTZ Z71 and am putting a 2.5 inch motofab leveling kit in this afternoon or tomorrow. Then the next step will be either BF Goodrich KO2's or Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Would I be able to put 33" tires on there with no rub?

This is my first pickup that I have ever wanted to do anything to and am completely new to the game.

Thanks and Wreck em Tech

So you are lazy and don't want to search? A red raider that makes sense! You know you can wait a few days before getting new tires to search and see what you like, how it looks and how it fits right? How about some more info? What size rims? What size tires? You can get a wide and skinny 33; so a 33 inch tall tire that is 265 width will fit differently than a 33 inch tall tire that is a 305 width; that matters...

Are you some sort of CEO working 18/7 that you can't spare some time to see what will work? Maybe try searching when you are at home and not on the company dime? There are people on here that run businesses, have multiple kids, travel a ton, have hobbies and kids events to go to that have time to search, they get better and more informed answers that way and are less likely to create a follow up thread titled "why am I rubbing or my ride is rubbish what happened". What is with the laziness of people these days?

Anytime I do anything that is impact-full on my life, has some expense to it or I will have to live with for an extended period of time I do research (from toys to guns to house stuff and cars). I spent a few months making sure I got the right exhaust for my GTO that didn't drone, gained power, had good sound and reasonably priced. I spent lots of time figuring the size and type of level on this truck, ditto with the tires for this truck and whether or not some mods were worth while or fluff. Spent half a few months making sure the shot gun I bought ticked all my boxes or that our fence install was better done correctly by ourselves than a crew of I can only imagine former red raiders (have to throw those jabs in). Only being educated on your decision can you feel good about it. Good luck I guess, I hope you get the hundreds of responses needed to make an informed decision :dunno:

Wowser, what a negative Nelly.

Tyler, maybe attempt being positive during your future posts, it would make the world a better place.

Assuming you are keeping your stock wheels you should be ok with 275/60/20, 275/65/20, 295/55/20, 285/60/20, 295/60/20, 305/55/20, and 33x12.5x20 tires. You may rub on sway bar at full lock by different degrees depending on the tire you chose.

Great answer and constructive.

Assuming you are actually going to drive the vehicle on the road a bit I would consider the ride you will be creating. I have a 2017 that has the roughest, hardest ride that I cant stand that is stock with the 20" polished alumium wheels. I had a 2014 which had the same wheels except they were chrome but other than that the exact size and style. These polished alumium are messed up making the ride unbearable over expansion joints and places where road patching has been done. I am ready to send this truck to a hurricane path.

    • Brought my 2015 Colorado into the dealership to check my touch screen issues, had that ghost touch thing happening. They said I needed a new touch screen and they could either order me one for $500. The lady at the service deck was nice enough to tell me I could order a touch screen online for less, she did stipulate that the touch screen had to be factory OEM, you can't pair an aftermarket screen to my radio seeing it was 2015, it had to be a GM factory OEM only. I found a few on Amazon and Ebay by the numbers on the back of the old screen, DJ080PA-01A GM# 22740886, Some said "OEM" in the description and others just said "Replacement". Would a replacement be the same as a OEM as long as it had the same numbers on the back of the screen? In some of the descriptions they also show different brand names but same numbers, is that an issue?
    • I have both but typically use the 4 legged walker (wheels on front, ski's on back).   The four wheeler is starting to be used on "longer" outdoor walks.  The 4 legged walker is particularly helpful in practicing good walking posture.  Both of my knees are at different stages of recovery and I'm trying to not develop poor habits.  I can actually manage with a cane but it's very difficult not to favor one leg over the other.  My PT recommends I continue with my 4 legged walker for a while.  Yesterday was four weeks since my last knee replacement and I'm excited about my progress to date.  It has been a hell of a rough journey so far but it is exciting to witness  systematic and continuous improvement.  I went for years watching the decline of my "mobility".  It seems that everyday now I am alerting my wife to something I can do now that I couldn't a day or two ago!  I encourage anyone facing the prospect of knee replacement to share any concerns with others who have had the surgery.  It isn't an instant fix but rather is a considerable amount of short term pain for long term gain.  Recovery time and pain levels vary for individuals post surgery but the end results are typically very positive and I've never encountered anyone regretting having had the surgery.
    • The lifter issue can be dealt with by shorter oil changes and quality oil IMO.
    • Got heavy rain, hail and light rain yesterday.
    • I'm putting in an A-pillar pod/gauges, and I'm asking if anybody can identify a (preferably) fuse for a switched power and illumination circuit on the driver's side interior fuse panel. Offhand, everything I checked with a test light was constant-hot, and I'd much rather uses a piggyback fuse. I can certainly find a wire, but I'd rather not half-tap.   Thanks in advance for any help.
