I’ll tell you what though, these are damn nice trucks; Chevy or GMC, makes no difference either.

I like them both, I bought a fully loaded 2013 LTZ new and had a few minor issues with it, our local Chevy dealer basically laughed off the problems and never did return my calls or fix it, when I finally got tired of their crap I traded it off just down the street at the GMC dealer for a 2015 Denali and the service is excellent, in fact I'm on my second GMC now with them.

It really comes down to the dealership, who's willing to play ball and give you a better deal.

I shopped around and the GMC dealer around here had a truck I could stand at a price I like.

Here are two base crew cabs, with a employee discount (Canadian price) GMC cost more but you get A LITTLE extra.

I've always preferred the GMC logo to the bowtie. And, I've always known that that's the only real difference. Much preferred the "looks" of the Silverado (particularly the front end/grill) this time though.

They're both great trucks. I would've been perfectly happy with a Silverado, but just happened to see a Sierra on the lot that I liked the looks of. I drove it, was blown away by how quiet the ride is,  the quality of the interior, and it just looks damned cool.

When I see a guy in a Chevy, I feel like we are brothers. But I know that he knows I'm the better looking, more successful, cooler brother.   Why all you Silverado guys so defensive?

If the Chevy paint is any thinner than what's on my GMC it must be damn near translucent.

As for the op, GMC is the more upscale. That's why it has the Denali and no Chevy equivalent.

The Chevy equivalent is the High Country

I actually had my mind set on the Chevy but the GMC front end is what made me change my mind to go the way I did. I agree too that both are equal quality. Maybe a nicer touch with some of the trim but that's minimal at best.
Me too
Tattooed Chevy man, but bought the 17 sierra

My 17 Sierra is built in Kansas and the paint is noticeably better than my buddy's pair of 17 Sierras built in Mexico!

All cosmetic between the two...way back in the day GMC was more of a working man truck, bigger engines ETC..it's mostly a marketing ploy now a days

That's why we haven't seen a GMC Corvette, yet.

Sort of...  the High Country doesn't get the same CID screen, the Magnaride susupension, etc. that the Denali has.

I'd say, the GMC is being advertised by GM as a step up over the Silverado. Most everybody knows they are basically the same truck, but I personally prefer the GMC exterior styling.

I agree.  I think there was maybe more of a difference between GMC and Chevy years ago but today they are pretty much the same.  I am on my 3rd GMC now just because I prefer how they look over the Chevy.  I test drove a nearly identical Chevy before I bought my current GMC.  it was $2000 cheaper and I couldn't tell the difference in how they drove but I opted for the GMC because I like their wheels better and the Chevy had the ugly (IMO) cocoa/brown interior on a black truck and I couldn't stand that.  Got black on black with the wheels I like on my 2016 Sierra and I couldn't be happier.  All personal preference.
