Years of blind spot warning mirrors?

What year(s) were blind spot monitoring mirrors an option?

I thought they were available on SLT or Denali trim of gmt900 pickups and SUVs.

Ive been looking for a sle, slt, or Denali with 6.2 2009 and up since the 6.2 L9H had a bit more power and the 6l80 was an option on non Denali 6.2 trim.

If i find a truck without blind zone monitoring mirrors can I add them or not plug and play?

I don’t believe any of the trucks had them available. I think the K2 trucks (14+) were the first to have them

If you are talking about the mirrors that a light will come on when someone is in your blind spot, no GM truck had this as an option. GM SUV’s have it, but uncertain what year it started.

I did some digging. Looks like blind spot warning mirrors were offered 2009-2014 on GMT900 SUV’s only. Tahoe, suburban, Yukon, Yukon xl. Someone on another forum added them to their SUV. They needed the mirror glass with warning light, factory rear bumper sensors and dealer to enable blind spot warning option.

Thanks for responses.

Right, 2009 was the first year for them.  Need a Tech2 or MDI to add software to BCM.  There was a really nice 2wd Tahoe LTZ with the 6.2 L9H last time I checked at Coggin in Jacksonville, Florida.  The 6L80 was the first year that all the 1500 Yukons, Tahoes and Suburbans got the 6L80s.  No more 4 speeds.
