Hey y’all doing the plug wires on my 06 sierra 1500. it’s a 5.3. would would be the #1 choice of plug wires to put in it?

AC Delco OE or Professional.  Preferably the former

 

748GG with Delphi Coils, 748HH with Melco Coils.

so something like ngk wouldn’t be a good idea? what advantage does acdelco have other the others?

 A number of the Gen5 Camaro guys seem to like the MSD wires.  I'm still reading to see what's what out there.  I do recall some discussion on the Gen5 Camaro forum about the stock GM wires on a Camaro not making as much horsepower as another brand.

They were purposely designed for that particular motor and to work with those particular coils.  Many folks have feedback, noise and other issues with the aftermarket wires that from what I've been reading on these forums, are not what they once were.

GM ignition systems are notoriously picky about OE components.

I went thru a number of different ones in my '96 Burb before listening to what everyone told me and went with AC Delco.

That being said, I'm running Delphi wires in my '06 5.3 and have had no probs
