Not a fan of that cluster.  I don't like the design of the analog gauges.  Great video though.  Impressive performance on that off road mode.

The cluster is definitely a step down from K2.

Some will like it though.

I like it, color and design somewhat comes out to you, gauges are easily distinguishable.

Just not as much pop as the K2 with Chrome on them.

It is more simplified. I can understand this with the HUD on Denali and High Country though.

Here are my 2 cents, not that it matters since GM did not poll me on the truck (why would they I sued them on my first GMT-900, but proceeded to buy another).  This truck is growing on me.  I like the looks, front end.  It looks mean and aggressive.

Powertrain:

Can always use more, but I see that GM spent more time on other areas.  The 5.3 in the GMT-900 is adequate.  However, I rarely tow or haul.  You can always overcome factory power with add-ons.  It sounds like the 10 speed is really good, but why not just put it everything?  When it comes to 8-speeds the ZF is the best.  Lastly, a 3.21 axle ratio is concerning to me.  I'd like to be able to choose, not based off of packages and Ram offers this.

Interior/Tech:

Just like the looks the interior is growing on me.  The simple layout of the center stack is just that, simple.  The infotainment is on par with everything else, except the 12" Ram screen.  At first, I was crazy about this, but as electronics go this could be problematic.  At least Ram added buttons along the side of that.

The camera system is adequate, but like on the Ram you can't get 360 unless you go higher trim (and on the Ram you can't get if you choose towing mirrors, that is a huge fail for Ram).  The rear-view camera is awesome, however, you have to go to a higher trim to get it and when I buy a new truck I will get a "topper" for it so that would become useless.

GM is touting that their blind spot monitoring is in the bumper and better.  However, we all see those trucks that have been rear-ended.  Either your bumper is going to cost more to replace or your tail lights.

The instrument cluster of the new Silverado is a sticking point for me.  It's way too basic and I stated it before that the one on the LT trim is barely a step above my GMT-900.  The Ram wins hands down with their instrument cluster.  The digital center is huge and fully configurable.  The ford is also nicer.  The cluster on the High Country and higher GMCs are a step behind.

The Ram has the best interior overall, hands down, no questions asked.  The Ram also has an amazing sound system; 19 speaker Harmon Kardon.  As for sound systems; Ram>Ford>Silverado.  This is an important factor to me.

Trailering:

I like what GM has done with the Silverado, however, I don't trailer.  When I do it will be a used pop-up camper.  Knowing the tire pressure is great, but knowing the tire temps is even better.  I win there for GM.

Exterior:

Opinions, opinions, opinions.  Go with what looks best to you.  I hate chrome, the Denali looks like a Beverly Hills, bedazzled teenage girl thing.  However, if that is your cup of tea then go for it.  Silverado wins on "bed steps".  Easy, simple and no gadgets.  While Ford offers a solution it doesn't work when you have a trailer hooked up.  I could go with the High Country since they use body colored bumpers which breaks up the chrome.  I really like the look of the LT Trail Boss.  Black bumpers are my thing and with the factory lift and slightly larger tires, I wouldn't have to invest in a 2-inch leveling kit to fit 33's.

Conclusion:

Overall the Silverado is growing on me.  I wish I could get a better instrument cluster in the Trail Boss.  In the end I highly confident that you can't buy a bad truck in 2019.

Based on all of the info I have read, videos I have seen and my own experience looking at the interior and exterior of the 2019's both GMC and Chevy in person I can say this......

I think GM stepped up to the plate this time around. Is the T1 a home run? Only time will tell.

GM played it somewhat safe in refining the outgoing K2 but did not make Drastic night and day changes everywhere which I believe will lead to better reliability overall.

Yes, the T1's are billed as a "New" from the ground up truck and do have dozens of changes from K2.

I would call it more of a "Refinement" to the outgoing K2's which are subject to debate in looks and quality over the previous GMT900.

The T1's in my mind will probably be very reliable as the engines are basically the same but more fine tuned to hopefully eliminate some of the

known headaches with our K2 engines.  Example.... Noise, Vacuum Pump unpopularity etc.  And the 10 speed.... only time will tell.

Eliminating the Vacuum Pump and adding a more linear cylinder deactivation technology should disperse any bugs we currently have.

Aside from this, the frame is more rigid on T1 with better front suspension. So far not Shimmy or Shakearado syndrome is being reported.

The bodies are new and better looking overall. More so the Silverado than Sierra but again that is debatable.

SO in the end, I give 2109 T1 Thumbs up and so far you few guys here and out there that own them seem to be impressed and happy with your purchases.

That’s absolutely great that people are enjoying their new trucks, it’s always good when innovation moves forward. Most of the negative are from test drivers, positive from actual owners so being that they’re fresh out, I’m hoping GM kicks butt.

So, after I found something quick on the Adaptive Cruise when towing, I found this piece of info on the Super Duty. This is what I have found to be true, so not quite sure why there are conflicting uses.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL WITH COLLISION WARNING

Available Adaptive Cruise Control slows you down as traffic ahead slows, then resumes the preset speed when traffic picks back up. The Collision Warning/Brake Support feature precharges the brakes for full responsiveness. if you don’t react in time. It’s integrated into the trailer brake controller for added security when you’re towing a heavy load.

I’ve got that on my 18, annoying sometimes when your in heavy traffic trying to maneuver and slows down hard with flashing red light on dash.

Yes, that's true. Especially when it (you) leaves a space "cushion" and some asshat cuts in front. All-in-all, I do like the feature and towing with it even more.

You’re right, I haven’t towed with it yet, don’t think I will but it’s great knowing you’ve got it. My Yukon has it too and it’s really cool while on road trips.

Is this adaptive cruise crap anything like the heated steering wheel?  totally worthless and pointless?

Not sure where you live Colossus.

But here in the Midwest where winters get frigid, I happen to Love my heated steering wheel.

Especially since some of the surround is metal. Allows me to drive without gloves which in turn makes Radio and Climate controls easier to use.

Try navigating the RAM 12" touchscreen with a pair of gloves on!

Dan, you have a level or lift on your truck?
