Laura GMC

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! New member, but been reading for a long time.  I've been looking around at the 2019s and I really dig them.  I prefer the looks of the Silverado and wife prefers the Sierra.  We do a lot of driving and have a baby on the way so looking for crew cab 4x4.  I am from West Central IL so I'm familiar with Laura and they always seem to have the cheapest prices by far.  I currently live in the North Texas area and don't mind traveling for a deal.  My big question is there a Chevy  version of Laura?   From looking around it appears I could get a better equipped SLT than I can an LT.

Thanks for the help and appreciate the site as it is a lot of help and a good read.

Also debating waiting for the 3.0 Duramax, depending on when they have some actual numbers out to compare the costs with the increased fuel prices.

The GMC dealer appears to have a much higher inventory and selection.

First off, you are comparing an SLT Sierra to an LT Silverado.

Did you mean LTZ ?  an LTZ is similar to the SLT

An LT package will be cheaper than SLT with discounts any day once you find the right dealer.

Yes I know that.  I was just making a comparison that Laura's prices are cheaper for an SLT than what I have seen for an LT let alone an LTZ.  The right dealer is what I was looking for that had comparable discounts to what Laura does for Silverados.

Also very valid point on getting what the wife wants haha

Woody has 51 Silverado/Sierra in stock and 49 in transit. This is where I ordered my HC from. Biggest dealer I know of in the south. He will also send them to you, any distance from what I've been told.

Their prices seem pretty high compared to what I see around Charlotte which is ~10% off.  Check out Randy Marion in Mooresville, NC.

Those are good prices for sure.

Our dealer sells both GMC and Chevrolet. For my work trucks I usually buy Chevrolet to save a few thousand bucks, but when it comes to my personal trucks my last 3 have been GMC's. In my personal experience I have found them to be "tighter" and nicer to live with. I know that will seem outrageous to the Silverado faithful here but the ride, interior quality and rattles have always been better in my GMC's than the Silverado's. I opted for my first GMC 2500 work truck this time around and love it so far. All the Silverados I have had over the last 3 generations have had creaky, rattling, noisy interiors, albeit on WT models vs. SLT models, so take that with a grain of salt. I also prefer the looks of the Sierra over the Silvy for the last 3 generations. Real aluminum trim and added features are bonuses for the GMC. J.D. Power scores Sierra a 4/5 for reliability vs. 3.5/5 for Silverado. If you can get a similarly equipped GMC for LESS than a Silverado, you would have a VERY hard time convincing me to go with a Silverado. But it all comes down to preference really in the end, same chassis, powertrain, interior layout etc. T1 trucks have the biggest differences between the two models yet. Let us know which way you go.

I haven't priced anything with Randy Marion in quite some time, but if they operate like the used to they more than make up their discounts with dealer add-ons.  Last time I priced they had a $1200 add on upholstery and paint protector.  They wouldn't budge on including it in price.  I don't have time for their games.

Never bought from these guys, but their advertised prices are good.  Have to take a road trip to Miami though.

I keep telling myself I'll take the couple hour ride south to look at their inventory. Then I keep seeing Miami in the address and I never go lol

Yeah, I'm not really sure about a trip to Miami either.   My dream road trip to buy a truck would be to go to Caldwell, Idaho to Dennis Dillon.  They are already showing $14K off the new Ram 1500, but then again I'd be driving home in a Ram.  Sure would be a pretty cross country drive though.

I've got a 2019 Ram as a rental, just posted about it in chit chat, it's pretty nice. I'm waiting to see what GM and Ram do with their upcoming HD redos. Hopefully my dually lasts that long.
