Intellibeam headlights

If I remember right the sensor sees light coming at you and turns lights down. What sensor I am unsure if it is the light sensor on the dash or the camera on windshield behind mirror.

Ok, this answers my question. The headlight assembly itself is not what makes an intellibeam truck.

Correct, it’s part of the computer telling it when to turn off and on your brights when there are incoming vehicles so you don’t blind them

So the headlamp assemblies are the same, it's the computer telling them to go high or low.

I have a crew cab LT that does this, but I don't have the RPO for intellibeam.

It's a 2017 All-Star LT1.

The sensors are in the windshield above the rear view mirror. It’s a big black box and if you look facing the truck you will see a triangle in the center of the windshield.

I don't have that, but my lights will turn down upon braking or coming up on another car.

Is there a difference between headlight assemblies for intellibeam and those without?

No, there is a camera in the inside rear view mirror cover, that is also used for the Forward Collesion Alert system. If you stand outside and look at the mirror, you will see the camera.

I've never had a good experience with the "Intellibeams" on my truck, so I keep that system disabled.  Was always staying ON when it shouldn't have, and vice verse.  As long as I'm paying attention, I control my HIGHs better than the computer.

Nevermind guys... the lowering of beams was only due to the slight dip upon braking. I feel like an idiot, but I learned a lot about intellibeam. [emoji2369]
