ALSO have a 2016 BLACK suburban LS (Hybrid/Flexfuel; 4WD). Bought it 3.5 years ago (April 16, 2018) w EXACTLY 50k miles on it, "clean" Carfax, "one owner", originally a Canadian Rig... (We're just a wee bit to the south, in the State Capital of [Helena] Montana). It was barely 2 years old and ALWAYS garaged. Never saw a dirt road or a hail storm. 

 

Well-- let's just say that the terms "garage ornament" and "pavement princess" have got NOTHING on my beautiful Black beauty (that is so lovingly adorned as my "SexyStella" ) that only gets driven to WinCo and back --ONCE-- every 4-6 weeks when I venture out of my home on my one excursion per month (max).  It has 54570 miles on it and I've had it 3.5 years.

 

Despite her life story and current living conditions, it is shocking to see that the paint is actually chipping off in SEVERAL places, and it's doing so in large CHUNKS!!  .... Like 3+ INCH chunks!!  ... They're Mostly on the roof, the rocker panels low on the doors, the hood where it meets the windshield,.... And the hood is just flaking off like it's being splattered with Bebe's or something and I literally do not go anywhere or even back her out of my garage unless I go to WinCo ... So ...... I literally have zero contact with her for WEEKS at a time!! 

 

Anyone else have this happening?????

Have a 2016 Cadillac Escalade with same issue. Dealer tells me it’s a defect in the paint and I should call GM. GM customer service tells me to call dealer and they can help. Been dealing with issue for over a year trying to get assistance, but got nothing but the run around. Hands down the worst customer service experience I have ever had.

I got lucky so far. March 2018 production date. Vehicle is kept outside and I do keep up with washing polishing etc. Still hanging in there. Fingers crosssed.

I have a 2015 Tahoe LTZ, having the same paint issues on the hood and roof. It looks horrible. Does anyone know if Chevy is doing anything for the vehicle owners to fix the issue?  We have a couple of 2015 Tahoes at work as well with the same problem.

Omg! My 2015 LT Suburban has exact same issues. and Corporate stated that the only thing I can do is trade I. the vehicle. It's already paid off. Is there something we can do? Class action lawsuit? I got quotes for over $10k to paint it.

I have a 2015 GMC Denali I took it to a car dealer to show them that paint was coming off on the doors I asked him to fix it they checked to see if I had gone over the mileage for them to do that I had gone over 10 miles and they said that I had to pay for them to fix it I told him I have paid a lot for that truck and I couldn’t understand why they couldn’t fix it even if I went over the 10 miles it’s frustrating when you pay a lot over $55,000 truck  the paint is still coming off my doors just because it had bubbles effective paint

Same issue here on my 2015 Tahoe. Started happening years ago on the hood. Didn't think it was a larger issue so i had the hood repainted. Now the entire roof and on to the door panels look horrible. Thought about having it wrapped just to make it look better but if this class action actually pans out i'd be happy. Curious if anyone has heard back from the law firm mentioned above?

2018 Suburban with hood and roof issues. The hood looks like it's on a 25-year old vehicle. I took it to the dealer today and they said this is a common issue BUT GM is handling case by case. Dealer said GM has a "secret algorithm" that determines what they will do for a particular customer. I left there somewhat confident that GM would step up and cover the repaint of my hood/roof considering that this is my 4th Tahoe/Suburban. I was wrong! The dealer called back with their offer about an hour after I left. Said that "GM will cover 10% of the warranty cost". So out of pocket for me is, HOOD COST $ 693.00 and ROOF COST $ 1,859.00. WE EXPECT BETTER GM! $60-75,000 vehicles that need paint jobs after 3-years is absurd. This is an ongoing issue that is being handled very squirrely. I am having the same problem with my 2017 Yukon and want to cry. GMC is not helpful at all and I don’t get it after buying a car 4 years ago and it looks horrible! Help!!
