My new custom 2019 double cab 4 x4 just did this, 6,400 miles on it. Went through a car wash put it in drive from neutral, and took off.  Breaks acted like they were not power assisted any more.  They were acting like the old non power assisted.  Had to mash on them to get the truck stopped.

At first I thought it was just my imagination but no it was manual breaks only.

Turned the truck off to see if that reset the power breaking but that did not work. Got home and disconnected the battery foe a few seconds to see if that worked.  It did and the power assist came back.  If it does it again I guess a trip to the dealership.

by the way I never got any service lights to come on, the power assist just stopped working.

Mine did this coming out of the car was as well. Only difference was that I had a lot of sensor errors.

This is what mine did, although I lost power brakes it would still stop. I think that people are so used to power brakes that when something changes in the way they feel that they think there is no brakes at all. Dealer changed master cylinder and have had no issues since.

I hate to hear this this has turned into a very serious issue. The dealership told me that there was 4 vehicles returned this week because of the same issue. That’s a total of 5 vehicles in 2 weeks from one dealership. You better get this documented now befor something bad happens.

Get it documented the more we have the faster a recall before someone is killed.

I wish I could say the same power brakes are nice but when the pedal is on the floor and you can’t stop this is not right. Dealership told me there no Master Cylinder available...mine has been in the garage for 10 days and there is no ETA on parts coming in. Get everything documented so we can get a recall.

That just looks so weird.

Your brake system isn't working right, so we are limiting you to only 62 mph.

I guess they think you'll still probably live smashing into something at that speed?

This is very weird. 62 mph would kill you in a crash. They would barely stop you at 25 going up hill. I guess they put this in to protect GM.

So, when did this happen?  How long did you have to wait on the part?  I have been waiting almost 3 weeks now with no part in sight.

I purchased mine on 8/21 & it’s been in the garage since 8/23. They can’t give me a status as to when they can fix the vehicle. Said the parts are on back order.

It happened back in January with 4800 miles on it.  I don't remember exactly  how long it was but it wasn't very long. Took it to dealer and they called GM and they said replace master cylinder.  If I remember correctly they had the part in a couple of days. Called me and had me bring it in. Gave me a loaner and they called me before day was up that it was done. Haven't had any issues with it since.

My vehicle has been in the garage since 8/23/19. They drove it in and it’s been parked in the parking lot ever since. The dealership I purchased it from is coming 150 miles to pick it up on a rollback and take it back to their dealership. They want to look at it and try to fix it since the other dealership evidently don’t think it’s a problem. They are also going to bring me a new Silverado to ride while they are trying to fix mine. I hated driving the little Encore since the 23rd but guess it’s better than walking. Just hope they get it fixed.

Good deal for you!  I checked on mine last week and no part in sight.  Today makes day 21 without my vehicle.  May have to start the lemon process after 30 days.  I am sure they are still pushing trucks out of the plants that have these unavailable parts.  Too bad for us folks that already gave them our money.  At least my dealership taking are of me with a 2019 truck to drive.  It is still not my truck but better than what they put you in.  Good luck.  I will keep updating as I hear something.

Is there any light at the end of this tunnel my truck has 199 miles on it all the same problems plus some something to do with the wiring harness and bad grounds or what knot Chevy engineers have already looked at it once. Also rolled through a stop sign with 3 kids in the truck also has the loud clicking under the dash and won’t allow the truck to start or do anything for that matter I’ve seen where they have said that the harness wires are getting chaffed and cut has anyone had a successful repair made yet?

My vehicle has. Even in the sho now for 18 days with no light at the end of the tunnel. Stay after GM because it took them 15 days to call me back. Be safe.
