How fast (slow lol) is the 5.3L 2WD

Well a new Silverado 5.3 is slower than a new Ford 5.0 F150.

That is subject to configuration. I’ve seen towing charts as an example where 4.3 could be configured to out tow a 5.3 and a 5.3 out tow a 6.2. Now configured right the 6.2 it top dog. But there are exceptions.

Now that I think about it, my truck had a $62K sticker price, Raptor $68K which needed nothing. I’ve already put over $10k of extras which at least $4K more than a loaded out Raptor. Oh well, lesson learned lol

I have never lost a pink slip to a Chevy, Ford, Ram, Toyota, Nissan, Kia, Hyundai, Mazda, VW, Lexus, Infinity, Yugo or Lunar Rover...why? Because I don't race my truck! I have learned that there is ALWAYS someone out there with something quicker, faster, higher, lower and slower. I really enjoy the truck I have just the way it currently is. Would I like more? Ummmm, YES! Will I get more? Ummmm YES! I might be one of those people who just doesn't care anymore about having the best LOL...my girlfriend isn't Cameron Diaz hot but she isn't Rosie O'Donnell ugly either. Hell, I have fun on my 49cc Honda Metropolitan

There’s plenty of Superchargers on the market that retain the factory warranty OR offer their own power train warranty... Also Callways trucks were sold on dealer lots with full warranty for less than a loaded Craptor which last time I checked isn’t offered in a RCSB configuration...

It’s called Raptor, you know, the only vehicle out there that everyone seems to base everything off-road worthy and speed to and shocked to see GM owners trying to make their GM1500’s look like them too.

Anyway, sure, they come with warranty but who really thinks that you’ll get everything taken care of? Most likely not but to each their own and buying anything off a dealership lot is 100% the dealerships problem and not an after purchase thought. I’ve got my 6.2 tuned with a warranty not case GM finds out and gets rid of my extended warranty too “but” much less to deal with than superchargers and cams etc etc etc and etc lol. Hey, to each their own, not something I’d recommend someone to just jump into it cause they’ve got a great Tax Refund, the chance of something “always” going wrong is going to need more money and if you can great but majority cannot. Just MHO, to each their own but it’s much more involved than a bolt on and a pc of paper.

I have a little understanding for people that have one ride, the need to make it satisfy all the sense. I learned a long time ago you don’t daily your hot rod, classic vehicle, or modified ride if you want it to last. My Toyota Camry could never be my only ride.

I guess I missed were this thread turned into a debate about OFF F##KING ROAD PERFORMANCE... Yes is somebody wants a off road performance truck the Craptor is the best bang for the dollar. I’d lay off the caffeine a bit, never compared it to a “Raptor”. I said cost equivalent better off getting a Raptor based on cost of a new truck and all the performance additions. I did say buying a supercharged vehicle from a dealership is a better option being you’ll still have warranty from dealership. I don’t like RCSB’s, think they’re half a truck for half of everything a CC does and why would anyone have a RCSB (“install” is better said than calling “invest”) unless you’re racing it, making money back and if that’s what this discussion is about which BTW it’s not then great. Speed wise you’re absolutely correct, go in that straight line but much rather have a vehicle that goes fast in every situation not just in a straight line and I’m sure everyone would too

Built and made are two different things. Something “Built” to go fast (featuring factory longevity) is much better than something just “Made” to go fast which is (requiring constant cost maintenance).

Every 5.0 truck I’ve seen even work trucks have had 10 speed transmissions. Maybe I missed them in the 5.3s.

Good point. Another reason the 5.3 is slower. I was "assuming" again and just thinking a 2wd rcsb Ford 5.0 and a 2wd rcsb chevy with a 5.3. I hear those 5.0 rcsb Fords are running low 13's on.

Yes they are. They do have around 375 HP too.
