Lol, i don't think we have had 5 1/2 inches of rain this entire summer, i think we have gotten a half inch the last 2 months, have not had any rain days here in the north east since early june, every storm system that forms just seems to miss us. customboss Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 37F in Wagon Creek about 200' below us. 40 something up here. Got over an inch of rain since monday. Thats amazing for this area which is essentially Northern NM type mountains.
diyer2 Posted August 18, 2022 Author Posted August 18, 2022 We know that area custom. When we were RVers we went to Monte Vista for the SandHill Crane migration quite a few times. 1

The only people who can afford to travel. At least they go back home. Every time I go by the dmv I see California plates being changed to Texas. Oh nooooo.
diyer2 Posted August 18, 2022 Author Posted August 18, 2022 The majority of the out of state plates here are Texas. Two houses by us recently sold and were purchased my Texans. 1

I’d go too. Up in the mountains. I’d have to win the lottery and bring the kids and grandkids and build a compound. Plus I’d have to build a dome to move outdoor activities inside when it falls below 70. My wife hates the cold. It’d be worth it for the view. So I’m indoors from June through September for the most part. My chores and running errands are done before 10. My wife’s start at 12-5. Too damn hot. Happy wife happy life. Damit. 1

diyer2 Posted August 27, 2022 Author Posted August 27, 2022 We have had a lot of rain, local news reported a nearby town has had 7 inches of rain this month. No fire danger, love it. 42 again this morning, 40 in the garage, high of 55 yesterday. Heat on again. Pic is from an ATV ride this spring. 1
customboss Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Since mid June we are registering from a Davis Instruments reporting station for our area almost 7" rain. Thats enormous and its been 20+ years since any decent rain here. Last week high 30's and hits 65F during day. Wind just started up last night again. Trying to get some boys out to secure my metal roof before the 100+ mph events again. Been out spraying invasive species thistle for last 2 months and have to plan to do it early so the herbicide and surfactant can dry to kill those bastards. I have been using a McLeod firefighting tool to root those I cannot get to with great difficulty. 1
diyer2 Posted September 11, 2022 Author Posted September 11, 2022 34 this morning, a high of 45 yesterday with fog all day. Helps to keep the airbnb idiots away. 1 1

First day of hunting season had two bow hunters from TexasStan, young buck in velvet was being sighted in with a compound bow....they were "gently" escorted the 6 miles out of the neighborhood to US 160. I suggested securely strapped to a ponderosa and doused with honey but I guess Colorado considers that a crime... I consider it justice with an edge. Edited September 11, 2022 by customboss

They would line up and walk them out to be harvested. In Texas I’ve seen many of deer stands on pipelines and transmission lines. They have deer feeders. There’re probably working those now. My grandfather in law only hunted with a bow and arrow. He came from a time you hunted and trapped to eat. I hunt my meat at a butcher. Or Wally World. 1
