Does anyone have a link to a trans pan with a drain plug that is not so expensive. The stock one is cheap enough do they make a version with a plug ?

2014 GMC Sierrra 5.3L / 6- speed. Not a welder so the weld in plug not really a solution for me.

Thanks,

You can also buy a mamba bulk head fitting it has 2 metal and oil seals on it. Drill hole and install in would use lock tight and crank it down. Then buy a cap. Very cheap and very good. No need to paint or worry about rust.

If you exhaust isn't stock or at least doesn't have the cross pipe in the way of pan the moroso pan for the Camaro fits and looks better. Normal like $300 but Amazon had it for $97.de172e56765162418ef5c73d84015606.jpg

I never found one, so I made my own. Welded a 3/8" bung and use a plug.

Did the same thing for my 8 speed

Like this then just a -10an cap. Say all under $20 super clean and easy install. I would go in the corner of the pan. Drill and bolt together. Done.90681bc834d87d3b8976a39f381463bc.jpg

I don't have a link but I found a perfect one at of all places NAPA sold one with a drain plug.   This was for a 2008 but I would try there, I seem to remember it was about $40-$60 and I never had an issue with it, perfect fit.

How far does this thing protrude up into the pan?  It looks like it may leave a quart? in the bottom of the pan.  Not that it matters a huge deal, just curious.

On a stock oil pan thickness it screws down flush. But you can always mount it to the side as well.

The transmission pan is $13.97 on Amazon, you could buy a weld on bung and get it done while your truck is still together. Throw a local shop cash and have them do it while they're working on other projects.

Just looked weld in steel bongs are super cheap. And any muffler shop can weld it in and that would be flush to the inside of pan. Also pans are cheap. I would sell mine but again they are cheap and if I remove trans I will not do so with my aluminum moroso pan on there.
