Can I run something like above on my truck?  That truck doesn't look like no LT to me.  Not sure if it could be a trail boss or not which would make it 2" taller?

 

My truck is a 2019 4x4 Z71 LT Texas Edition.  I want a taller tire if possible.  

 

Currently on 265/65R18.  I honestly don't know much about trucks or tires but I like the look from the link above.  I don't mind an 18" wheel but want taller tires I think.  

 

Truck will mostly be driven in the city/highway.  I like an aggressive look but suppose I don't need mud tries.  Probably would be cool but I assume they would handle worse and be louder?  

 

Anyway open to suggestions on how to get a better look.  Should I just plastic dip the wheels and get taller tires or get the full setup above or something in between?

Anytime man, I like them running boards. What kind are they? Mine came with the chrome ones and didn’t like them so I took them off. I want black ones

I've replaced the original tires on my past three trucks shortly after purchase with Michelin LTX MS or LTX MS2 or Defender.  They are available in P or LT rating.   They don't have an aggressive look or receive admiring stares.   However, they ride nicely,  get me through every road condition that I encounter and maintain their new look a long time..  I also now choose the size specified for my truck or very close.  This way I am guaranteed a proper fit and will not lose any performance or efficiency.  The improvement in traction, ride and comfort is very noticeable and worth the upgrade, imo.   (I also find that fresh take off tires from a new truck sell easily.)

I got the running boards installed from the dealer as part of the deal.  I believe they were listed at $899 if I remember correctly.

I like them a lot.  Plus they are really functional.  I was given a loaner Dodge Ram while I got this and the leather installed in my truck.  The ones on the ram where the chrome tube type and my size 12 didn't really fit well on them.  I honestly don't use them much since I'm 6'2" but the rest of the family loves them.

 

I personally think they are the best looking running board out there.  I may be a bit biased though lol.

Well this being my first truck I want somewhat of an aggressive look.  I agree that the more aggressive likely the less practical for my use.  I will keep that in mind when my knobby tires get old lol.

So I contacted customoffsets.com and asked if these tires and wheels would fit on my truck.  They said Yes because the Silverado in the gallery is stock.  I asked them if they were sure since the truck in the photo appears to be a trail boss and those have a 2" factory lift.  

 

They asked me for my tire size (I had already provided truck model during the initial email).  I sent them my tire size and they said those tires are larger than the factory recommended spec.  That I would need a level or 2" lift.  

 

Of course I double check and 275/60R20 is indeed a factory option.

They mentioned the offset makes the wheels stick out past the fender and that they look best with a lift.  I asked what tire size would go good with them.  Then I never heard back.  

 

I'm getting frustrated and I haven't even bought anything yet lol.

Oh man, now they are only telling me that these tires only fit on a 2019 stock LT if it came with 20" tires.  They are asking for my tire size again.  Well I'm definetly not buying from customoffsets.com.

I wouldn’t get discouraged. There are a million options. Tire size, wheel size, truck trim level and whether it has a lift or not. It’s easy for me to get confused as well with all the possibilities.

There is a link I use to compare sizes. Now what fits in the wheel well without rubbing idk but based on Ebrown 275 60r20 those are 33s. My old F150 came with 265 70r18 and they are 32.6 which is about an inch taller than what you have. They made tons of those F150 so that size is cheap and available almost in every brand you can think of

Also the 275 70r18 are popular but those are 33.2 that is about 1.6 inches difference. I know discount tire might mount a tire and check for rubbing at no extra charge. At least the one in Minneapolis MN offered me that

 The truck is the same height no matter which wheel was installed on it from the factory.

 

Also remember the people at tire stores, parts stores, 4 x 4 stores, and online retailers are probably not subject matter expert‘s on your exact Vehicle.

    • Common failure.  You need to replace the fuel door housing.   The painted cover transfers over to the new housing.  To remove the old one there is 4 spots where you poke the plastic to release it.  
    • No such thing as regenerative braking on a pure ICE vehicle.     Regenerative braking is the re-capture of energy from electric motors and stores it in the battery pack.  So hybrids, PHEV and EVs have regenerative braking.     What you are seeing is the charging system changing modes is all.  Its likely entering charge mode for some sort of reason is all.  All of the charging modes will be listed below.   As for L10 vs D.  L10 turns off automatic grade braking.  L10 puts you in control of grade downshifts where in D it will automatically do it based on brake pedal position and other factors.  Otherwise L10 and D drive exactly the same aside from that one aspect.    Battery Sulfation Mode The BCM will enter this mode when the interpreted Generator output voltage is less than 13.2 V for 45 minutes. When this condition exists the BCM will enter Charge Mode for 2–3 minutes. The BCM will then determine which mode to enter depending on voltage requirements.   Charge Mode The BCM will enter Charge Mode when ever one of the following conditions are met:   Windshield wipers are ON for more than 3 s. Climate Control Voltage Boost Mode Request is true, as sensed by the HVAC control module via serial data. High speed cooling fan, rear defogger, and HVAC high speed blower operation can cause the BCM to enter the Charge Mode. The estimated battery temperature is less than 0°C (32°F). Battery State of Charge is less than 80%. Vehicle speed is greater than 145 km/h (90 mph) A current sensor malfunction exists. System voltage is determined to be below 12.56 V When any one of these conditions is met, the system will set targeted generator output voltage to a charging voltage between 13.9–15.5 V, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature.   Fuel Economy Mode The BCM will enter Fuel Economy Mode when the estimated battery temperature is at least 0°C (32°F) but less than or equal to 80°C (176°F), the calculated battery current is less than 15 A and greater than −8 A, and the battery state-of-charge is greater than or equal to 80%. Its targeted generator output voltage is the open circuit voltage of the battery and can be between 12.5–13.1 V. When fuel economy mode is active, the generator is not charging, only maintaining open circuit battery voltage. The BCM will exit this mode and enter Charge Mode when any of the conditions described above are present.   Headlamp Mode The BCM will enter Headlamp Mode when ever the head lamps are ON (high or low beams). Voltage will be regulated between 13.9–14.5 V.   Start Up Mode When the engine is started the BCM sets a targeted generator output voltage of 14.5 V for 30 s.   Tow/Haul Mode (if applicable) Pressing the Tow/Haul Mode button located on the center stack, the vehicle system voltage is raised and the remote (non-vehicle) battery will be charged. Having the headlamps on will raise the system voltage and if the Tow/Haul button is applied it will not serve any purpose. The voltage is regulated between 13.9-14.5 V.      
    • Hello from Australia Just sharing that there is now a way to delete the active shutters entirely with just a plug in module. Opens up tons of room to light bars etc.
    • I have an observation and a question... 1) I watch the voltage closely because I have had to dial in the cut-in/cut-out voltages of the battery separator to my camper.  The "smart" charging drives me nuts.  Anyway, I noticed that when coasting for a while, and especially if lightly using the brakes (though not necessary), the voltage goes up from mid/high-13 volts to mid/high-14 volts.  Then it drops back down after stopping or going again.  Consistently!   The only explanation I can come up with is REGENERATIVE BRAKING!  Well, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's certainly free extra battery charging.   2) Driving on mountain roads I will use L and vary the max gear.  Things straighten out and I end up in L10.  Sometimes I leave it there for a while.  Is there any difference between L10 and D?
