Nothing real groundbreaking here, but i did want to inform everyone that the L86 intake manifold does bolt right on to the 2019+ Trucks with the 5.3.

I did the swap in my 2018 and loved it, once I bought the 19 I had to do it again and I feel like the 2019 responded to the upgrade even more.

I did a quick little video showing the differences in the intake manifold -

More power?  Better response?

Feels much better, Definitely improved throttle response

Dyno before / after?

I don't have before and after dyno results but I may get a chance to borrow a dyno for that test to take place. If so, I would do the 6.2 intake pulls, 5.3 intake pulls followed by another round of 6.2 intake pulls.

Nice work very good video angles and also very descriptive. Did you get a CEL? Did you have to tune?

Interesting.  Makes me wonder if we can do some mods to these trucks without a tune and still get some results?  I'm thinking catback exhaust, this ported manifold, and headers. Can't imagine it would set off a check engine light, at least for long. When I first ran e85, it turned it on for about an hour, but then went back off once the engine learned the fuel.

Might have to try this. For an additional 10-20hp, that's a cheap upgrade.

They didn't do a tune

" In most scenarios, you would not need retuned after installation!

Thanks,"

"No tuning adjustments necessary!"

It seem to be just a bolt on. But i would bet anyone that there would be a significant increase in power if a proper tune is applied.

Adding a Cat-back probably wont add too much, a full exhaust would be the best, more air in, more air out.

OP,

Do you know if the L86 throttle body will fit on the L84 intake manifold?

If i buy one I will buy the other, but was wondering if i can be donw one at a time.

Doesn't fit, l86 throttle body bolt pattern is larger.

I added the Borla cat back exhaust from GM and I noticed an immediate Increase off the line throttle response. I personally wouldn’t venture too far from borla.

Doesn't work that way.  The L84 is NOT E85 compatible.  The L84 (5.3L w/ DFM) doesn't have an alcohol sensor.  It can't "learn the fuel".    I haven't checked yet but I bet the injectors are different as well.  E85 requires a higher flow injector.  It contains about 30% less energy therefore requires 30% more fuel.  Why would you spend $40+ grand on a truck and put fuel in it that it isn't designed to run on.

If you have the L83 (5.3L w/ AFM) then it is E85 compatible and should not have caused a CEL.

From your signature you have a 2019 LT which should be the L84.  The Custom trims still use the L83.
