The only issue I have been having is every once in a while my touch screen will freeze. Then when I shut the truck off for 20mins it return to normal. 2019 Trail Boss

Still haven't got the update. Does anyone know if the dealer can manually do it? It's not a rush really, just seems like it's been out for some time and I would have thought everyone would have it by now.

Also didn't know since I had my system upgraded to NAV (didn't come with it) if that might have jacked up the updating.

Does the truck have internet?

Might need to make a hotspot with phone?

I could be way off

It can connect to my home wifi when I'm in the driveway and my phone. I can run the check for updates from the menu and it will say No updates or something like that with the current date/time so I assume it's able to get out and check.

But thank you for the suggestion

Thanks for the replies, but can someone please assist with my SD Card problem?

Anyone know how to resolve?

Really awful an over the air software update may now necessitate need for a dealer visit.

I hate going to the dealer; them damaging my vehicle; the time and hassle involved; etc.

Would love to be able to fix myself.

Please do advise, as I need nav.

Argh. :(

Thats strange, this is what mine looks likeIMG_2060.thumb.jpg.c6676becab04d436bd0c2d974af09c95.jpg

You have the low end model like me, it is the IOR (not the nice IOS model like they have).  This model is NOT updatable despite it having the option.   We are stuck with this 2014 crapper model.

Weird I have the same on an RST. Is it a month in the build kind of thing or just that it’s not the premium model?

Mine is also an RST but it's just how it was ordered when the dealer did the build sheet.

1.  They can order the basic IOR model made for the LS level vehicles back in 2014

2.  Te IOS model that comes with HD radio, over-the-air upgrades, ability to add apps, climate control app and SD slot for Nav upgradability

3.  Or the mama-jama IOT that has everything from above plus Nav.

I just purchased a 2016 Canyon, i don't find an option to even check for an update, it is an SLT with Nav and the 8" screen. OnStar had an issue enabling their software, I may run by the dealer on Monday to see if my system has a problem.

I found this some very good information

interesting. I don't have any issues with mine, but I think my 16 was better AND had HD radio. Must have been the IOS.

Count yourself lucky ?.  Mine crashes and reboots at least 6 times a week (sometimes all the buttons in the center stop working too because its all tied in together and dont work till the vehicle is turned off for 20 minutes).   Took it to the dealer and they were useless, all the did was reflash it to the same exact 2014 firmware it already had.

Can anyone confirm they got the update without having a subscription to OnStar/Connected Services?

Thanks. I was hearing you can download it through wifi but thought maybe you won't have access to it at all if you don't have a subscription.

Sorry to bother, but the problem persists.

I’ve tried removing the card, cleaning its contacts, etc., but to no avail.

In the rare instance that it works, it only does so intermittently, as it won't upon a subsequent start up.

Why did an over the air update have to ruin our systems? Anyone able to fix / resolve?

Don’t want to take the truck to the dealer, be without alternate transportation and have the dealer either scratch, dent or otherwise damage or steal something.

Upsetting failure on GM’s part to push out defective software. Really upsetting.

Please advise if anyone has any GM contacts I can discuss this with for proper, prompt resolution.

I Imagine another update needs to be pushed out to the truck get it working again.

    • I think users are going to want to pick their monitored parameters, which parameters they want to see first.    It should probably start with baseline at a minimum and adjust to learned, but be able to overlay baseline for comparison.   A simple severity level would be able to determine what type of alerting is appropriate or user selectable.    Why not use the OBD port though?   I think a phone connection would be a good idea, push notifications type deal.   Number 1 issue is having data is useless if you don’t know what the data should be under normal conditions.
    • I thought I would use your thread and add to it as I just did my first longer drive with my truck in the last couple of days. I drove from the Grande Prairie area of Alberta down to Edmonton and most of where I drove in the city was the ring road so fairly free flowing but a bit of stop and go as well in the city. Stayed the night and returned home and not too many stops along the way each way but every restart and certainly every cold start sets it back for fuel mileage. Why I say that is I see some people will cherry pick a fuel mileage leg after the vehicle had been warmed up driveline wise before hand and its a forgiving ( easy rolling drive leg for example ) and call that their fuel mileage which can give a false perception of reality. I was not heavily loaded at all but never the less the flip bak cover, rubber bed mat, various tools etc and extra jerry cans of fuel all way up to a few hundred pounds of dead weight so its not an empty truck. The cold inflation tire pressures are set more near the freezing point so once they are warmed up driving I was showing 45 front and over 40 rear and realize high inflation pressures would help a little in fuel mileage but certainly not the ride on our crap sections of highway. The weather was good so was not raining as that can really drag mileage down, in fact I had a bit of a tail wind on average driving home. Most people on here would never have driven on that freeway to visualize it but its got a fair bit of rolling type of landscape with numerous river valleys. For the most part I had it on cruise set to 62 although kicking it off if I caught it in time before it started down shifting and self braking going down the grades. Most of the more substantial grades its shifting into 7th I believe as 8th just doesn't have it. Total distance round trip was 643 miles and my overall average and I did refuel three times in all, figured out to 17.65 miles per US gallon. My best fuel mileage section refuel within all of this figured out to 18.46 and these are all hand calculated figures. I find if anything that the trucks computer can be over optimistic, sometimes its pretty close but other times its stretching it. On paper persay in theory the truck would have just about made it on fumes for that whole drive without refueling once.    Which made me think of the topic thread of the wonder if these trucks could do 20 mpg and that is a good question, certainly would have to be on an easy going flat highway, no head wind, the right temperature, not packing around a bunch of dead weight and puttering along even slower than I was I would suspect and going steady and not stopping to smell the flowers or take a piss !. It probably is possible but not without effort to attain that with the wind resistance and weight of these trucks. Of course on my drive most people are passing me if they have the power as per loaded highway tractors, never mind a lot of speedy vehicles but the speed limit is 68 and most are at or well over that.
    • Monday looks like a good day for the dealer to test an ac issue. Hopefully it all turns out good.
    • Paid $2.72 for E85 today.
    • Welcome back! No, it definitely doesn't pass the sniff test. Even "ceasefire" needs an alternative definition these days.    $5.29 at Kroger today
