No DRL, 2000 Escalade

I have a 2000 Escalade problem with no DRL. I have run the diagnostics and it points to the DRL diode. I know most diodes are located right under the steering wheel. Most of the locators list the diode somewhere around the radio. Is it possible that the diode is in the DRL module? The module is easily found but I cannot locate the diode. I am suspecting it does not have one. Is there a way to determine if the circuitry was changed in the late 2000?

Have you already checked/replaced the little R2D2 like sensor on the top of the dash?  After that, you'd have to follow the wires from there I think.

When you say no DRLs, do your headlights stay on all the time? If so, it's the ambient light sensor on dash. Quite common to be bad

Thanks for the feedback. I actually finally found the diode. It was father to the right of the steering area than I was previously looking. Ordered one and hope to install tomorrow

Thanks for all the comments on this DRL issue. I have been trying to resolve this problem for months but kept running into a wall. I was 99% sure it was the diode but honestly I could not find it on this vehicle. I am nearly ashamed to tell you that I looked no less than fifty times for this part. On a whim I checked one more time father to the right of the steering wheel and lo and behold there it was. Being 20 years old the part # had been discontinued but was able to cross reference and finally got one and installed it. Once again I have DRL. So HAPPY>>>>>>>>>>>>>
