I just got ksource snap and zap shipped for $69 on summit racing. Why were yours so much more expensive? Are there two kinds?

Crap I dunno. I paid over double that at eTrailer and had to wait months. Now they are in eTrailer for $206!

I guess I’ll eat it.

Hopefully somebody will will still take them off my hands for a good price...

Yeah I just tried mine on tonight they look identical to yours. Sorry bud looks like you paid the early adopter price. They are high quality though. I would have paid $200 last summer when I was fighting with generic camping world mirrors.

I just looked at etrailer and they are charging $200 for the same model number mirrors summit racing has for $53 plus shipping.

Standard features vary depending on trim level. For WT, RST, LT and LT Trail Boss models, the vertical trailering mirror function is tagged with RPO code DPO, while the mirrors for the LTZ and High Country get RPO code DQS. Compare and contrast the features of both below:

2020 Silverado 1500 Towing Mirrors (WT, RST, LT, LT Trail Boss)

  • Black mirror caps
  • Outside power-adjustable
  • Heated upper glass
  • Lower convex mirrors
  • Integrated turn signal indicators
  • Auxiliary lighting
  • Manual folding/manual extending
  • Clearance lamps

2020 Silverado 1500 Towing Mirrors (LTZ, High Country)

  • Chrome mirror caps
  • Outside power-adjustable
  • Heated and auto-dimming upper glass
  • Lower convex mirrors
  • Integrated turn signal indicators
  • Auxiliary lighting
  • Power folding/manual extending

Just stupid you can't get everything on an RST.  I got most.

I have them and they have cameras and surround view.  I would love to trade them with someone with standard mirrors and tech package.

I have a 2020 Chevy Silverado high country I’d be willing to swap mirrors because I really need the tow mirrors

I'd suggest to anyone who is thinking of the tow mirrors to try them out if possible or take a test drive of a new vehicle with them. They noticeably affect vision. As with anything there are pros and cons, the individual has to decide.

I have a new HC with the tow mirrors and I'm wondering if the pros are worth the cons. Maybe I'll get used to them as time goes since I've just got the truck and haven't driven it much. We'll see

I'm the other way around.

Without tow mirrors, I feel like something is missing.

Especially pulling a trailer.

Tow mirrors, give much better view to the side of truck and trailer, and (especially extended) behind an enclosed trailer.

Except for the 2015 listed, all the others had tow mirrors. (long story, but  I wanted the mirrors/max tow on it too -- there was a delay with start of production for max tow/6.2 combo, and I decided not to wait)

First time I pulled with it, I knew the 'standard mirrors wouldn't do it for me.

Of course opinions vary, and it depends on what the truck is used for.

Not sure if this has been asked but with the HC does it have the blind spot monitoring and the yellow light in the mirrors?

Great. Then I need the mirrors off a 2020 High Country it seems.  Now the question is if I can get them and the harness for everything to work just like my non-towing mirrors do.

Are you saying you're going to use the 2020 Tow mirrors on an '02?

No.  I have a 2019, I have been lazy and not gotten around to putting it in my info below my avatar.  My main concern was loosing blind spot alert in the mirror going from the regular mirrors to the towing.

Anyone have luck finding part numbers for the power/camera/blindspot mirrors yet?  I tried searching a couple VIN’s and haven’t found anything.

I put the 2020 tow mirrors on my 2019 LT. Every function I had works, adjustable mirror, temp, and defrosters. The lights on the fronts and the LED lights integrated into the mirror do not.

kind of annoying, but I can finally see my race car trailer when I’m backing up so I’m happy about that.

@Hamflex How was the install process?  I have a '19 LT and I've been searching forever for tow mirrors.  Pissed GM came out with them for 2020 models, but not for 2019.  Did you install a wiring harness too or were you simply able to swap out mirror for mirror?  The only thing I have with my mirrors I believe is the electric adjustable.  But they are manual fold, and have no lights.  So I assume that stuff on the new mirrors just wouldn't work right?  I tow a camper, and while I get by with the normal mirrors, I've been sort of obsessed with finding mirrors.  I don't want the extenders.  I want real tow mirrors.  This is the first I've seen that someone was successful with it, so pretty pumped about this.  Even if the lights don't work, whatever.  Maybe down the road, a new wiring harness will come out to help with that.

    • No such thing as regenerative braking on a pure ICE vehicle.     Regenerative braking is the re-capture of energy from electric motors and stores it in the battery pack.  So hybrids, PHEV and EVs have regenerative braking.     What you are seeing is the charging system changing modes is all.  Its likely entering charge mode for some sort of reason is all.  All of the charging modes will be listed below.   As for L10 vs D.  L10 turns off automatic grade braking.  L10 puts you in control of grade downshifts where in D it will automatically do it based on brake pedal position and other factors.  Otherwise L10 and D drive exactly the same aside from that one aspect.    Battery Sulfation Mode The BCM will enter this mode when the interpreted Generator output voltage is less than 13.2 V for 45 minutes. When this condition exists the BCM will enter Charge Mode for 2–3 minutes. The BCM will then determine which mode to enter depending on voltage requirements.   Charge Mode The BCM will enter Charge Mode when ever one of the following conditions are met:   Windshield wipers are ON for more than 3 s. Climate Control Voltage Boost Mode Request is true, as sensed by the HVAC control module via serial data. High speed cooling fan, rear defogger, and HVAC high speed blower operation can cause the BCM to enter the Charge Mode. The estimated battery temperature is less than 0°C (32°F). Battery State of Charge is less than 80%. Vehicle speed is greater than 145 km/h (90 mph) A current sensor malfunction exists. System voltage is determined to be below 12.56 V When any one of these conditions is met, the system will set targeted generator output voltage to a charging voltage between 13.9–15.5 V, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature.   Fuel Economy Mode The BCM will enter Fuel Economy Mode when the estimated battery temperature is at least 0°C (32°F) but less than or equal to 80°C (176°F), the calculated battery current is less than 15 A and greater than −8 A, and the battery state-of-charge is greater than or equal to 80%. Its targeted generator output voltage is the open circuit voltage of the battery and can be between 12.5–13.1 V. When fuel economy mode is active, the generator is not charging, only maintaining open circuit battery voltage. The BCM will exit this mode and enter Charge Mode when any of the conditions described above are present.   Headlamp Mode The BCM will enter Headlamp Mode when ever the head lamps are ON (high or low beams). Voltage will be regulated between 13.9–14.5 V.   Start Up Mode When the engine is started the BCM sets a targeted generator output voltage of 14.5 V for 30 s.   Tow/Haul Mode (if applicable) Pressing the Tow/Haul Mode button located on the center stack, the vehicle system voltage is raised and the remote (non-vehicle) battery will be charged. Having the headlamps on will raise the system voltage and if the Tow/Haul button is applied it will not serve any purpose. The voltage is regulated between 13.9-14.5 V.
    • Hello from Australia Just sharing that there is now a way to delete the active shutters entirely with just a plug in module. Opens up tons of room to light bars etc.
    • I have an observation and a question... 1) I watch the voltage closely because I have had to dial in the cut-in/cut-out voltages of the battery separator to my camper.  The "smart" charging drives me nuts.  Anyway, I noticed that when coasting for a while, and especially if lightly using the brakes (though not necessary), the voltage goes up from mid/high-13 volts to mid/high-14 volts.  Then it drops back down after stopping or going again.  Consistently!   The only explanation I can come up with is REGENERATIVE BRAKING!  Well, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's certainly free extra battery charging.   2) Driving on mountain roads I will use L and vary the max gear.  Things straighten out and I end up in L10.  Sometimes I leave it there for a while.  Is there any difference between L10 and D?
    • Do you think this width might affect the chalk test with a higher pressure closer to 65psi? I think lowering the pressure makes sense to get the tread to lay flatter
