Adding resonator

I swapped out my sto k muffler for a carven tr and ran new 3" piping to a single exit exhaust. Although it sounds good around 1600-2500 rpm it's just too loud especially with a baby in the truck. With the stock resonator it's just too quiet. Has anyone tried a aftermarket resonator like the vibrant series just to take the edge off the exhaust without sacrificing too much. Thank you

Yeah.

 

I've used them a few times before with great results. Takes the rasp/drone away but keeps the sound I wanted.

 

One truck was a 5.3 with no cats and just a magnaflow muffler dumped over the rear axle. It was loud as hell and hurt my ears at cruising speeds. Added the vibrant ultra quiet resonator just before the muffler and all was good.
