Seeing news clips of crowded beaches in Florida and Australia on the same day as a parade of military vehicles carrying dead bodies for cremation in Italy is bizarre, to say the least. Every country has its share of uninformed people but I wouldn't disrespect a country as it is suffering as heavily as Italy. To the contrary, we should be very upset at those still dismissing the seriousness of this crisis. We have the advantage of learning from those regions ahead of us in the spread of this deadly virus. I am hopeful that we don't suffer the devastation experienced in Italy. I think this forum is a great place to share experiences and I wish we could use this thread as an arena to encourage a proactive and calm process for eradicating this threat. Karnut has done an admirable job of keeping this thread alive. The conspiracy, political, blame and denial stuff have made the rounds and we need to focus our energy to the current crisis. We are at the end of the beginning and now need to put the pedal to the metal! Edited March 21, 2020 by Donstar 1
KARNUT Posted March 21, 2020 Author Posted March 21, 2020 There was a brave financial guy on TV this morning saying we need to get back to work. The financial impacts will be devastating. He implied this just the latest bug right? He’ll probably end up gone. Just like the nice lady on fox business who dared to be different. What happened to that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

KJS Sullivan Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Saw this crap coming a year ago when pundits and media were cheering for a bad economy to affect their desired outcome for the upcoming election......and they'd all hop like flies on poop to feed fear at the first opportunity to never let a good tragedy go to waste........and dumped all my stocks into low rate secured Government bonds. The question you have to ask yourself is why it's named COVID19, because COVID #1 - 18 were just as virulent corona viruses but ill timed politically. Three years of BS about Russians affecting the 2016 election fooling some people who never learn, but some learn all too well.......now thanks to all the hype it appears the Chinese will have an affect on the 2020 election. “If you can keep your head when all about you, Are losing theirs.....you'll be a Man, my son!” R. KJS Sullivan Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 You want something to really worry about look up H5N1. This is the next one coming out of China just south of Wuhan from a chicken farm 70% mortality rate. Seriously Google it it will make this virus look like nothingSent from my SM-N976V using Tapatalk
davester Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Yes, H5N1 will be the next virus 'round the world...course, it's been around since '97. From those quacks at the cdc: https://www.cdc.gov/flu/avianflu/h5n1-virus.htm "Rare human-to-human spread with this virus has occurred, but it has not been sustained and no community spread of this virus has ever been identified."
KARNUT Posted March 22, 2020 Author Posted March 22, 2020 Some of the things we’ve learned this week. The main purpose for country shutting down is to stem the flow to the hospitals. It’s being reported unless there’s a cure it will make the rounds. There’s hoping heat will play a part. The amount of lives saved ultimately is debatable. Some people will be healthier later than now is debatable too. So let’s send the spring breakers home to their older parents and grandparents. Instead of back to college with younger healthy peers. Or everybody rush to grocery stores instead of stadiums to watch sports. I still like the idea of keeping us informed of how to arm ourselves for this reasonably while having a semi normal life. The high risk can isolate themselves. The rest can go to work or play. Our government can still have the national guard set up temporary hospitals were needed. Of course the cruise industry would still be slowed down. Air travel abroad too. We could still help them where needed. The whole country shutting down, that’s just too much. HeySkippyDog Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Back in 2009, they said that swine flu was going to kill us all (H1N1). I was a sophomore in college and got it from playing beer pong. I felt shitty for a couple days, that was it.This is more of the same crying. Side note: the local Walgreens had the flu shot for it, but they didn't have the 1's for their sign lettering. So they put "HINI SHOTS HERE".Heiney shots, you say?Sent from my SM-J810F using Tapatalk
KARNUT Posted March 22, 2020 Author Posted March 22, 2020 2009, Hi-N1. I was traveling, staying in hotels, training people buying our equipment. Eating in restaurants, flying. At depositions, meeting with lawyers in different states to stop people from stealing our patients. In other words normal business. If there was a shut down I missed it.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Grumpy Bear Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Population of Italy 60,550,075 Confirmed cases 53,578 Confirmed deaths 4,825 Recovered 6,072 Active 42,681 1 in 1,130 have the virus and still rising. How short do the odds need to be to be a concern? It's an open question not an attack. So far an almost an equal number of deaths to recoveries. 2

The U.S. economy needs to be strong to help others. Example I give according to my income to help others, most to church. Many elderly donate in my church according to IRA incomes. Mostly from mandatory withdrawal. See the pattern? Our self reliant engine is idling. I don’t want government help. Other countries will. I’m open minded about if this is necessary. No matter how much I complain. I fear socialism worst than death.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 3
