Cities and counties have to contact employers and have them identify those least vulnerable.  When the test is available, those employees need to report to the testing location.  If they pass the test, they go back to work.  Hopefully that will be enough people to keep a business going until the most vulnerable are able to support.

You should see my handwriting.

I picked up what the Doc calls an 'intention tremor' about 15 years ago. Had to learn to write off handed. It isn't pretty. But I type real fast :)

I can't even do that. Fine motor skills, zip. On a good day I can still solder  The larger the object the better the control. Can still handle a stinger, a fishing rod an the TV remote. Fact is a bit of shake helps my welding.

Just finished watching the evening news. OMG what a cluster...…. Everyone mud slinging and back side covering.
And I mean EVERYONE. Embarrassing. What a different slant on same information? Change the channel. One up or down to your favorite spin. So much spin the truth is now impossible to know. Is that the point? Lord.....

Their worse than children Stan. Yesterday a reporter puts Trumps feet to the fire and not even well I might add and today he tosses the WHO under the buss? Governors band against him??? How did Phoenix running out of food not get the lead?? NYC post some 3K more 'unreported' deaths, untested deaths on the Covid-19 list without conformation??? Did I hear that wrong? Do you get a prize now for worst in the world? Oh and spike in China cases after taking their foot off the brake gets a 15 second blurb. I think diyer2 was right. Just turn off the noise.

Yea, I’m backing off too. I’m retired this gets me too worked up. I really thought people would work together better. That would be too easy.[emoji2962]

Still a fraud in every respect. Colds dont get on trains and travel from new york or la to dallas; they bloom from airports where dfw is top 4. The active crowd at bars and sporting events catch it after hospital workers and flight attendents. I spent yesterday in the covid ward with the same 3 vents (2 should be extubated) we had a week ago. Put a name on a cold and measure all the 'close to death' people - they will all show that cold before the 59 years of smoking kills them. A covid death is questionable to me in every way now. Dont get me wrong, O2 requirements are increased with covid. But a lot of people need O2 all the time...

It was the second round of the Spanish Flu that did the most damage.

It took 115 days from the first reported case of COVID-19 to reach 1,000,000 confirmations world wide. (likely 30 longer)

It took 12 days to reach 2,000,000 confirmations world wide.

The yellow line is the number of new cases per week. Orange line the total number of cases.

Oh it's bent, but not flat and still accelerating (lower chart).

As mentioned last week a flat yellow line is only good IF it is below the medical fields ability to effectively treat that number of cases.

See flattening the curve in the previous post. So progress? Yes! Best case? Best case is a return to zero. Good case is the yellow line heading downward.

This is the acceleration curve. Lower, yes, but still positive. 3,802 more cases per day / per week this week. (USA)

image.png.ef04c3d9327cb633c2aebe64a642561b.png

The world chart is actually flatter however the acceleration rate has DOUBLED over this past week.

Up from 4,708 cases per day / per week to 10,375 per day / per week.

Just information. NOT an opinion.

Did you know that as of today exactly 1/3 of all confirmed cases in the USA are in the state of New York?

Did you know that 43% of all COVID-19 deaths in the USA are in the state of New York?

Did you know that 51% of all 'serious' cases in the USA are in the state of New York?

Did you know that 54.5% of all New York State cases are in the county of New York?

Did you know that 73.5% of all COVID-19 fatalities for the state of New York are in the county of New York?

Did you know that the current mortality rate in New York County is 6.68%?

Did you know there are 6,898 dead in just that county.

Did you know that 29% of all COVID-19 deaths come from a single county. New York.

Did you know that only 6.33% of the population in the county of New York are confirmed infected?

Now imagine these numbers with an unabated 60-70% infection rate.

Just give it a thought.

Shelter in Place works.

Wow.  I want to go see New York!

Through my scanning of the headlines and news. I have a lot of news apps on my phone. What seems to be the big news now is immunity and life of the bug on surfaces. There seems to be no real alignment on immunity. The flu seems to have a 4-6 month life. Then we get a different mutation every year. That’s why the shot is only 19-40 percent effective. It a best guess shot. We lose 19-60K lives a year. Our (experts) now that we’ve been properly scared into isolation. Are going to have to figure out a way to assure us that this is a new normal and expect to lose people to this like other threats to our health and life. What I want to know being an at risk person. Will this and the flu combine? Will it fall into the 19-60K death range? Or will it be an additional death range from now on? Look at it this way. If they started around December putting up the flu numbers how would we react? Same difference right? I got an email from my favorite casino. There’re pulling slot machines for more spacing. I can imagine hand sanitizer stations through out. Table games? Every thing is going to be set up that way. Restaurants etc. Life is going to become very expensive. Cost for everything is going to go up. Then the big question. Was this all really necessary? I haven’t made my mind up yet. It really to soon to tell. I do remain skeptical. Just what is acceptable risk?
