so I just watched my new to me GMC 1500 get towed away to the dealer for a new starter (I've owned it for a year already, haven't driven it too much).  I got it CPO with 3,600 on OD, now Ive got 8,900 and a bad starter... bad luck or just a taste of what's to come?  still don't know for sure why it ended back at the dealer with 3,600 on it but.... time to start looking into a ride or just some crap luck?

Anything is possible on any vehicle at any time. I have seen brand new vehicles with 5 miles on them have starter failures. It's man made. You may trade this in on something else that gives you more problems. If you're looking for a vehicle that will never break... You will never find that. This is a crazy post.

If you give me the vin number I will tell you if it had any previous repairs done before being traded in at 3600 miles.

Its just a starter don't worry about it. My hood latch needed to be replaced at 8k because of the dumb switch on it went bad. Doesn't mean everything else is going to break.

true that. thanks guys. I'm just being dramatic lol

how's the VIN thing work for finding out about previous repairs?

Service records, recalls, TSB's performed if they have been logged.

Hopefully it’s good to you after this.

You want any and all failures to happen during warranty period ?

Of course no failures are the best option.

Mine went bad the day before I moved into my house so I didn’t have my truck for the move. Think i was around 15-20k miles at that time andI posted here when it happened. Worse part is they didn’t tighten the wires down post repair so it was towed twice.
