Been getting this error when starting my truck now: “please confirm password to continue using connected services”. What password would that be?  Doesn’t seem to take my WiFi or profile password.

Mine did this last week,   if you tap inside the box, not on the X,  it will take you to a screen and ask you if your password is correct and then the message will disappear.

I don't know why it happened,  I guess it had something to do with an update of some kind?‍♂️

Didn't GM give wifi access for the month of April?  Covid-19 related?  I'm guessing it's gone now, and this is why we are getting the message?  I've been getting it too, but I haven't done any recent update.

I was getting the same message, and It would not accept my password until today.

I did login to the My Chevrolet website, which may, or may not have been related to finally getting it to work.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I logged into mygmc website and I was promoted that my password was no longer valid, so had to reset password. Did a reset and the new password worked in the truck. All good now.

Minor old thread resurrection.

I get that message all the time, especially when a trailer is attached.  Goes to the towing screen and asks for a password.  I have never set a password for anything, nor did I get any phone apps or sign up with onstar.  (nor do I want to)  How do I make it stop?

I've tried every password I have and even reset my password for the MYGMC app and nothing works. Onstar even tried to update the software and failed to clear it. I've had this since March 2020 and its pretty annoying. Has anyone found other ways to clear it?

Mine does this as well about once every 2 months... I put my password for the MyChevy App into it and it goes away. Not sure why it prompts all the time but that stops it for a couple of months.

I think it could be related to the WiFi Hotspot? Mine started doing it again yesterday. I tried to turn off in my.chevrolet.com but said it cannot connect to my truck at this time. Funny, it connected at first to download the hotspot name and password.

Am about ready to drive my new truck through the dealers front window. Very distracting when pulling a travel trailer, the navigator screen flips to password required. Have to take my eyes of the road to go back to navigator screen. Every darn 15 minutes on a 12 hour trip. CRAP

I have this same problem.  I've tried everything password I can think I would have used and none work.  So while I'm driving down the road with a 30', 7000lbs in tow they want me to enter a password?  Maybe next time I'll call and wait on the phone for them to help me while I'm driving.

Thought I'd share in case it might help others. Like other posts, I've had this message popping up and I've tried known & working GM/Chevy passwords and PINs, but they wouldn't take. I should have noticed this, but the password prompt pops up when using my wife's User/Profile. So for those that swear they're using the correct password (and have multiple users), make sure you're under the right profile in Users.

This happens for my spouse who uses profile 2. He has never set any passwords. Should he set one for this to stop? No help from the dealer.

    • Yes it can be a challenge for obvious reasons. Remember when people were blocked on websites during the last administration if you didn’t agree. Being retired I can scan all the sites and podcasts. I start in the morning with Glen beck during my walk. Then I watch Orielly that I recorded the night before. I scan the headlines on Newsmax, and News Nation. News Nation has Como so it’s diverse. Weekly him and Orielly have debates sometimes Steven A is along for the ride. My nightcap is Jesse Watters for comic relief. Then it’s the Astros, that’s been disappointing. Sometimes Greg Kelly if the Astros are getting blown out.
    • I believe the only thing that can be monitored is negative electrical current returning through the frame instead of the ground wire. It's just a guess, but that's how your home gfi breakers work and my theory is that is what's going on. I will be watching for what you figure out.
    • Glad it worked for you. I tried that 1st, about 2 years ago. Didn't help. I also tried doing a hard reset (disconnecting battery for minimum of 30 minutes). Worked a couple times, but after one summer of doing it over and over, that no longer worked.  I was fairly confident it was either the compressor or a failed actuator, but I just couldn't identify which one. Had to research which actuators do what and which last numbers are associated with each.
    • Took me FIFTEEN MINUTES to find this. Isn't that a problem? On the mainstream media I can INSTANTLY find 100 articles bashing President Trump ... but when it comes to TRUTH in American corporate news & search engines, it's carefully filtered to support ONE SIDE. A Republic cannot survive like this! Incredible! Even all the AI searchers out there failed as well! ChatGPT said it needed more details on the video that I provided a DIRECT LINK to! I thought AI was the be-all, end-all?? I had to dig it up myself. This should be FRONT PAGE NEWS!!! 🤬   Here's the statement directly from our President:     Glenn Beck's reporting on the operation:   https://glennbeck.com/watch/videos/trump-just-revealed-a-massive-military-secret-that-lowered-gas-prices   In case that link doesn't work, here's the YouTube link:     And another 15 minutes to find this clip out of Glenn Beck's video - the first few seconds is all the corporate media will allow the public to see, since the low IQ people will think Trump said " I love inflation ", and that was the end of it. Taken WAY out of context! Here's that part, plus the 2nd part about the oil smuggling operation:
    • More is cylinder deactivation. Kia-Hyundai Ive had 4. The warranty is the same 10 years 100K miles. My grandson drives the first one 05 Elantra GT. My wife drives the second one 2011 Genesis. The Genesis still performs as new and looks great. The Elantra looks rough. He’s not kind to it. The third was a Genesis coup. The fourth was a Santa Fe. Those were my daily drivers. I don’t keep them long. Kia is the same as Hyundai with the same warranty. I looked at the K-4 today. Too small, otherwise pretty good buy. Most of Hyundai and Kia’s have a performance upgrade.
