Truck bed outlet

Doe anyone have any info on putting the outlet my truck bed.  Couldn't find to much info online.  Went to gmparts.com and found what I thought was what I needed but they responded and said it was just the housing for it.  Not the outlet itself.  I have a 2020 and they said the housing was for 2019.  They couldn't tell me if it was the same for both years.  Wanting the outlet back there, any help please, thank you.

I think it will be more complicated than it's worth...but, I am sure it can be done.

You'll need the housing, outlet, wiring harness, new dash buttons, the inverter, since it alternates between AC and DC...and I'd guess probably some PCM/BCM programming.

Just know the stock inverter has it's limitations.  First, it only runs when the engine is running.  Next, the amount of power you get is pretty limited (I believe about 3Amps).  And if it's like the last year's model, the invertor is not a pure sin-wave one.  That could be a problem if you are looking to power sensitive equipment.

From my research, the inverter is actually mounted behind the back seat, so it would be a bit of work to install the factory one.  I suspect you could do better with something else.

I have one in my AT4, but I'm essentially replace it with something better.  I'm working to install a GoalZero, which I already had, which provides a battery and inventor.

Unfortunately, unless you're wanting to air up a mattress or charge a phone, I don't see a whole lot of uses for the outlet. I guess it's better than none.

We used the outlet to use a coffee maker and a griddle during power outages from hurricanes. Nice to have!

It's good enough for the people that want it.  If you want a higher powered setup, there are plenty of options available for you to install yourself.
