I am debating on buying a 1400 psi electric pressure washer for washing my truck. I currently have a gas powered 2000 psi pressure washer which I do not wash my truck with but use for other tasks around the property. I would think the gas powered is a little too much for washing vehicles and don't want to damage paint. However I would like to buy a foam cannon for washing vehicles. Would I just better off using foam cannon with gas powered pressure washer to apply foam and then switch to garden hose - which kind of seems like a pain but I guess wouldn't be too big of a deal, or buy the electric pressure washer to do the foam and wash of the truck? Just curious what methods other people use with the foam cannon / pressure washer / garden hose. Thanks

I have a gas pressure washer 2200 psi. I use it on my new black truck. I rinse it off first to get any grit off, then I wash with microfiber hand mitt and one on a telescopic pole. I use one bucket with soap water and another bucket to rinse the mitts out, then back in soap bucket. I use the pressure washer for the final rinse as well. No problems at all. Granted I don't get super close with the nozzle. I use the fan nozzle and keep it about 2 feet away from the truck.

I have a foam cannon with a gas pressure washer. Sure the gas machine is a little overkill but whatever. A smaller electric one would be nicer and less noise. The pressure washer does make far more foam than the hose as I've used both but either would work.

What kind of foam cannon do you have? I use the gas pressure washer because I already had it. I have to start and stop it a few times during the process but that's ok. I would rather do that than fool around with a extension cord.

I use a hot water power washer no problems at all I never resort to using a garden hose unless I have a lot of mud underneath

I use a 1800 lb pressure washer. Plenty of pressure for me my truck never gets dirty since I wash it 3-4 times a week.

I don't do the two bucket nonsense either.

I fill a bucket with sudsy water and throw about a dozen microfiber towels in it. I first blast it off with the pressure washer then the foam cannon.

I wash a panel then set that towel aside and grab a new one out of the bucket. Next panel new towel. Dirty ones never go back in the bucket.

I think it was this one from Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/MATCC-Adjustable-Connector-Pressure-Cleaning/dp/B0792TYFR1/ref=sr_1_16?dchild=1&keywords=foam+cannon&qid=1589763711&sr=8-16

It works good and the reviews are decent. Took me a minute to figure out the nozzle and what spray pattern/suction yadda yadda gave me the best foam.
I bought one from Amazon, a little different than yours. But it works good.1862a8708d69e6c35dcde8b013a446fc.jpg

I use a 3100 psi pressure washer, I was using a 2900 psi before the pump gave out.  I use the 20 degree and 40 degree nozzles and a $16 foam cannon I bought from amazon 3 years or so ago.

I do use a garden hose for rinsing on occasion when I’m rinsing in the garage.

Know what tells you the truth? Clay. I've used pressure washers and the garden hose. I have gas and electric. Single bucket and two bucket. Foam.  When I thought I was done, I clay it. Lord they all suck.

Now I use Turtle Wax Foamy and cold water in the bucket and a hose in other hand. Wet it, then hose into the microfiber rag at the leading edge as you go over the panel. Float it off. Let the water and foam do the work. Fresh rag I use the Turtle spot free  and wipe it down with a it wrung out tight. Just a cap full in fresh cold water. Then ceramic spray wax followed with a distilled water mist (spray bottle) and glass nap short microfiber. Diesel Fan 1 got me started on ceramic wax. Bought me my first bottle.  :)  Don't set your beer on it. It will slide off. What a waste that is?

I picked up the least amount of trash in the clay this method. Your results may vary.

Our water here is rock hard so floating foam and spot free works really well for me.

    • I Wouldn't Know Where to Begin    Oh I know where I would begin but I'm just one of over eight billion people on this rock. Eight billion versions of where the goal post is. How large it should be. How far to kick from. What ball is the right ball. Elevation. Age.....are you getting the point? It isn't about disagreeing with one individual. It's about agreeing only with one individual. One's self.   Agreement comes when multiple people hold the same point already. THAT is the goal of an education. Building the Social Contract. That thing that allows us to all read this sentence. We've agreed on the alphabet and how to arrange those letters into words we agree upon whose meanings hold true for everyone entering into that contract. Those words arranged into a sentence form an idea and several sentences strung together in a paragraph convey an argument for or against or inform the reader of a state, condition or perhaps reveal a things nature. Paint a word picture. Make oneself known.    This contract is not limited to words although they are often explained by words. Things like numbers and their usefulness. Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Music, Art and so on.    The frequency of middle C (C4) is 261.63 Hz. We build on that to make music we all can enjoy even if we all can not compose or play. You don't have to master it to make it enjoyable and useful.    So why is the Beginning so difficult? Why is agreement so elusive?   Everyone "Signs" the contract (when receiving that education in obtaining it)  but fewer and fewer in this world have any intention of living by that contract. They find exploiting that contract more advantageous. Disruption. With intent. Without intent. In Ignorance. In your face. With a double dog dare you. With a hold my beer. In resistance to that contract and in spite how it looks on us. It permeates the very air we breath.    In this way the contract is subject o advantage. Abide by it when it serves you, disregard it when it doesn't. Unpredictable and self-serving. Corrosive.....Toxic........   It says a lot about a persons character to disregard the contract, the truth, first principles. None of it good.        ********************************************************   https://medicine.yale.edu/news-article/character-vs-personality-who-we-are-and-who-we-aspire-to-be/   Just an interesting article.
    • It costs $5,250 for the Yukon Nightfall option (black wheels, emblems and illuminated black GMC grill badge). What a "deal".
    • I keep getting the above error message on my 25 Sierra.  If I reset the infotainment unit (via the phone hang up button) it will work again for a day or 2.   But I dont want to do have to reset  all the time. Works fine in my 2023 Corvette. On both vehicles I connect wirelessly.   I have a Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, phone is up to date.  Any Ideas.  See attached
    • LOL, its thrown a few people because this item is being talked about in the gas part of the HD forum. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to put a very brief wording in your profile with the year/GM or Chev/2500 or 3500/ and yes the 6.6 Duramax. When I joined this forum I could see the confusion ensuing for my own truck unless I had it listed with my chosen name handle unless one has a few vehicles that apply to a GM forum as that becomes confusing as well. Anyway its all good, makes for a little forum excitement 😉
    • Gasgacinch, James Gaskets. Good stuff. High tac to help hold the gasket in place while assembling parts. Fills minor surface imperfections. Slightly elastic. Gasoline / coolant / oil proof. Very handy stuff. Nothing like RTV.
