Yes

This is what I have been told by a friend that worked at a terminal.

It all comes from the same refineries but when it gets to the station the proprietary blend of detergents are added as its pumped in the tanks at the station. Personally I fill up at Kroger, or shell depending on who I have points for for a better deal.

Not true IMO. Additives are added at the terminal.

Usually Exxon or Mobil, 87 octane the minimum.  I'll occasionally hit Texaco because its close, but to honest I don't think there is a hill of beans difference in the base fuels of the major brands, only the additives.

I will add this about gas in general.

There is a lot of talk about gas going bad when stored. Weather in a gas tank or a gas can.

I used to have an off grid cabin that I stored my boat at for the winter season. Averaged 6 months a year of storage. Boat sat outside with temps below zero. Probably helped because I believe higher temps degrade gas faster.

This was a Mercury outboard with 4 carbs. In 20 years I never had a problem with it starting. I did run it out of gas before storage. Still have the boat but now it is stored in a garage.

The generator at the cabin, used to power the well pump would sit for 6 months also. It was not ran out of fuel before storage. Never had a problem with it. I did make sure they both had over half a tank of gas before storage. They both got doses of Sea Foam during summer use. Usually in the spring with first use and one in the summer.

I store gas in gas cans now because the gas station isn't close. Used in my ATV, boat, leaf blower, and snow blower. All have carburetors. Still use Sea Foam.

I think a lot of things today get a bad rap but I feel a lot of it is due to not being properly maintained. I maintain everything from computers to our house. I have never had a lot of the problems with things because I do the maintenance.

Back to the topic of gas.

Everyone can justify their way of doing things. Gas is a requirement in our lives. Needed for transportation, recreation etc. I will buy Top Tier gas because it's available.

Sorry for the long winded post.

My wife’s Acura intagra type R is 19 years old. For the last 17 years it gets one tank of premium gas a year. Runs like new. I drive it once a month.

I have been using Valero. Use 87, and every 4th fill up switch to 89. No issues.
