superhighsierra Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 Removed my antenna as I could care less about radio and the truck looks a lot better. Was wondering if there was a cap or cover for these vehicles that covers the opening where the antenna was? Thanks in advance 1
chadman Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 I’ve never seen a cap, but there is a 1.5 inch shorty on amazon.

Yeah I've seen those but they look kind of funny as well IMO. Whole front end looks a lot cleaner when it's symmetrical and nothing is there but would like a cover/cap to fill that spot. They make them for most other vehicles just can't find them for T1's...
Gutzy Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 Does anyone know if GM sells a shorter antenna? Would think about swapping to a shorter one if GM sells a smaller OEM one. With the Trail Boss being lifted and already higher i have ran into a lot of places where the antenna hits. Kind of annoying. Little surprised GM didn't come up with something better.
chadman Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 I have this one and it works well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N2WBWJ8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 1
J A K Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 I was hitting the garage door with the antenna with just the standard height truck. I bought this one, and other then height it appears to be the same as factory. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SLMGVUW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 John K 1
Taz56 Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 I use this, I have had many people stop me and ask me where I got it from, works great, looks good. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B078VG4PS3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
OnTheReel Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 I’ve seen a few people go to the hardware store and grab plastic hole plugs to snap into the antenna hole in the trim piece. Looked good. Amazon also has kits with various sizes that will likely work. I just run the shorty cuz I do need some AM reception at times.
jgisonfire Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 I got this one, and use the "0.75 inch Bonus" on my truck. I still get most of the radio stations with it, in a non-major city. I wish it was less pointy, but I think that helps with reception. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00O86Z610/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 1

I was looking for a plug too, but I might end up using this one. Still staying on good and not working loose? Thanks!
GN2018 Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 (edited) Take a look at this page. I’m not sure what size the bolt is, but this may get you close. https://www.amazon.com/Prescott-Plastics-Round-Flexible-Rubber/dp/B07QWZ77PK?th=1 Edited April 5, 2022 by GN2018 1

Mine was also hitting the garage door so ordered this and it is perfect. Does not hit door plus looks just like factory, just a bit shorter. 1
RedLT Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 Agree, the constant antenna dinging every time going in or out of the garage was a ear soar. The shorter antenna definitely eased the mind.
