Once again for the upper deck, these shocks (especially when set a higher setting) aren't for smoothness. They help control larger bumps but are worse on small ones. So flyboygt and coloradocub were in for a surprise when that is what they were thinking they are going to do.

Manage your expectations and thoroughly read what it is these shocks do.

I've got a Denali with the stupid Adaptive Ride Control shocks.... got both 6112 and 5160 in hand for front and back and really wondering how much better of a ride I am going to get with the Bilsteins. My truck is a pavement princess with an occasional trip to a job construction site so not much off-roading for me.

Currently small bumps and holes in the road are LOUD and rough as hell. I've got Toyo MT35s on my 22 inch wheels. Im really hoping that they soften the ride up a bit. Even if its a little, its worth the investment cause I got all of the shocks for a phenomenal price (6112s for 450 out the door and 5160s for 250/set out the door)

Has anyone swapped out their magneride (ARC) shocks out for either of these shocks and what was your experience and how did it improve the ride?

I have the 6112 and 5160 on my 21 SLT with the X71 pkg and 3.0l diesel. I change mine with in months of getting the truck. With the Rancho shocks, the front would just pogo over any bumps. At one point I actually think it pogoed the front wheels off the ground, so annoying.

With the Bilstein setup it is much more controlled and a tad bit firmer which is fine with me. I set them to max height to level the truck out (3.0l diesel is heavy). I also installed the Bilstein UCA in the front.
