Brake System Failure? 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4

I remember the Jerry Seiner commercials from when I was a kid.  Glad they are still around and treating customers well.  I've used Murdock in Woods Cross/Bountiful a few times over the years when I was in Utah and they took good care of me.

At least they gave you a courtesy vehicle.  The 2 dealers I have used always say "none are available" as you are there looking at their lot full of vehicles.  

In that situation they should be renting you a car. Rental car companies have contracted rates for GM warranties. I once worked for a rental car company that had a counter in a Chevy dealer.

Well I advised them that they needed to figure out something as I had a doctor's appt and work. He said they could use Enterprise since it's a safety concern but found a vehicle on the lot for me to drive. Jerry Seiner here in Salt Lake is s great dealership so far...

Jerry Seiner is definitely better than Larry Miller. I was more of a Gus Paulos customer though.

This Same Thing Happened To Me On My 2021 GMC Sierra Denali It Barley Has 130 Miles On It And I Was Going Up The Freeway Ramp And It Said The Same Thing “Brake System Failure Max Speed 43MPH” I Was Close To My Mechanics Shop Where We Scanned It And Erase The Codes. I’m Going To Drive It A Bit More And See If It Pops Out Again.

with 15,700 miles

Last night I experinced a Brake Failure with near collision, I was going about 45-50 on US 78 in Loganville, GA, Light changed red everyone started stopping, went for the brakes and dings and messages started flying, no brakes!  It was like the engine had shut off and I only had manual brakes, but the engine was running. I stood on the pedal and swerved to prevent rear ending a bunch of cars. I finally came to a stop in the intersection after passing the 3 cars I would have plowed into.

Just found out GM and the NHTSA knows about this issue !

When I get it back, I am scared to drive it now !

The engine has nothing to do with the brakes any more in these trucks. The braking system is all electronic now. Have it towed to Colonial GMC and let them check it over. I've always had great service there in Loganville.

I'm sure all dealers are different, but I've never gotten a loaner.  The two times that was necessary, they rented a vehicle from Enterprise.

That's still a loaner as long as you don't have to pay for it. I use to work for a Thrifty franchise and we had a counter in Chevy dealership. We billed the dealership, and the dealership booked GM. We always had to supply GM vehicles exclusively to that location.

I see your point of view.  I was just saying that I've never gotten a car of the dealer lot.

Mine just went back to the dealer yesterday for the second time in less than 3 weeks for the exact same thing. After the first time I was told that the "Brake Module" needed to be re-booted. Lets just say I'm skeptical that was the fix..

i had the same issue 2022 gmc sierra slt with 9723 miles. Almost had an accident because of brake system failure
