What to do on a fall day, buy a new truck of course! 2021 Sierra SLT Diesel..Stumbled across it randomly as inventory has been garbage thanks to Covid. Got a pretty decent deal, I couldn’t pass it up. This is my first Diesel so this will be a learned experience to say the least!

I’ll surely miss my 17’

Congrats/looking good.

Whats a "decent deal"?

Around here right now 9K off list plus 1k Costco rebate. Plus gave me 33K for my 17’ CC LT. which is pretty good Considering I bought the 17’ two and half years ago for 37k @17K.

It’s a lease as GM financial  wanted way to much in interest, plus it’s my first Diesel which was the main reason in case I dislike it for whatever reason.

Very nice truck!  I recently found a similar truck that caused me to get out the calculator and do some serious arithmetic!   In the end my ''15 c/w no payments won the day.  I never considered leasing but this is an interesting option worth investigating next time! Congratulations on your new truck!

Yea, I went back and forth with lease vs. buy at the end of the day based on the current economic times and my personal stance on trying a diesel. I see no difference in Buy vs. lease unless your current truck is paid in full. Either way a Bank still holds the title until the end of the term. If this truck is worth less than 34k in 39 months, I give it back to GM or if it’s a POS. If it’s worth more than 34k and i’m still in love with it I can buy it outright. Plus I live in IL so they tax us on our trade also, anything worth over 10k you pay the taxes on both the trade and the new unit it’s 1k for every 10k. I was looking at about 5k in taxes alone between the two trucks. Under a lease you only pay the taxes for your current lease term. I personally believe with the ever rising costs of vehicles if you don’t drive 20-30k a year leasing will be the new norm. Thus far in 2020 54% of vehicle transactions have been leased. Just something to think about..

I leased mine a well, since I generally use it as a tow vehicle.  I've had it 18 months and just turned 6k miles.  Guess I have a few miles to make up......this one will most-likely be going back, as the jingle jingle front axle will never be fixed correctly.

I also leased as back in July the money factor calculated to 1.57% interest rate and the residual value is 61%.  Also got $3k dealer discount, $1,500 lease credit plus GM educator discount which I recall was $2,995.  It's a 39mo/12k miles per year lease and up front fees were SC tax ($500) plus first month payment.  Over the years I've leased and purchased.  I like a new vehicle every 3 years or so and leasing at these rates is hard to beat.

Congrats. Love the color!  I would love to lease but I’m already at 17k and still have two months to make it a year with my truck.

Nice truck, but why did you go from standard bed to short bed?

Only reason was it’s what they had on the lot that was a Dmax. It’s also has the Mutipro tailgate so that helps with the longer home improvement items.
