I was trying to see if I had an update to my infotainment system since some have been reporting downloading one.

I was unable to pull in the update but did discover how to enable developer mode on the system.

Touch "Settings"->"About"->"Build number"->then tap the white file name several times and it will count down how many taps it takes to enable it.

There is stuff way above my head as options in here so I am just passing this info along.

******USE WITH CAUTION*******

I am sure there are settings that will not have a positive outcome if used.

I did see you can change the colors per se, not really changing them rather than remove them, but ultimately just turned it back off as I really don't want to be the first to break the new truck. ?

Android phones work the same way to enable developer settings, I believe the base software in our infotainment systems are a base android operating system.

If so, that would explain all of the bugs and hiccups.

I have way more issues with my new ipad than I ever have with Android phones, but that's just my opinion of course...

Interesting. I hardly have issues with any of my apple products. My friend with an android is always having to pull the battery.

If he's pulling a battery, it's tine to update his 2014 phone to something current.  lol

Just did a quick search and there’s quite a few 2020 models that offer a removable battery.

IIRC, the only thing you can enable is ANR (app that isn't responding).  Everything else is locked out

When you say you turned it off, do you mean turned the developer mode off?  If so, is it the same steps to turn it off?

It's currently 2022, The only options I see is System->About then the only option in there is ->Open Source Software which shows all the copyright uses and such. How do I get to the developer mode? No "build number" or any other options are shown.
