Busted valve spring on cylinder #4.  Just waiting on GM to give their 2 cents on how to handle.  Boroscoping the cylinders as well

I think that's the most miles I've seen on one with a failure.  Maybe miles don't even matter, just a matter of time....  Whats your build date?

Sure have to wonder if GM simply pulls another potentially defective valve spring out of their parts bin to be the lucky recipient in your engine.

Pretty sure it was one batch since they have build dates on the TSB.

Excellent, glad to hear they're doing the right thing!

And look at it this way, at least the issue it's out of the way now.  My truck was built in the time frame of the bulletin.  I feel like I'm driving a time bomb waiting for the engine to quit running.  Not an easy feeling if I go out of town.

How many miles do you have?

Just over 2500.  
 

Maybe since I beat the crap out of this thing brand new on the test drive, raced a couple other trucks, took it down the track 5 times and did a few instrumented 1/4 mile tests, hopefully thinking a valve spring would have broken by now.

I did all of the above and broke at 2400... So could be on the horizon still
