Finally took delivery of my new truck a 21 Chevy Custom. Been waiting over a month which I know is nothing compared to most. I want to add storage under the rear seat. Searching comes up with good info on 1500s but I haven’t seen much on the 2500/3500s. What is everyone running? Du ha, weather tech, Chevy oem, maybe locking vault? I’ll just be storing some tools, fuel additives for the boat, cleaners and extra hitch balls. I appreciate the help.

The HD had the same rear seat and floor as the 1500 so...

I have the factory rear under seat storage.  Works well enough.  The tops are kinda flimsy, however.

I think you will be happy with the Du Ha system.  I have had that on two trucks and really liked the fit and functionality of their unit.

I noticed du-ha doesn't have a lid like the OEM set up.  For the guys that went the du-ha route did you ever wish you had a lid?

I did not miss the lack of a lid when using the du-ha unit.  Actually, I have the GM underseat storage bin on my new 3500 truck and I took off the lids and left them out of the truck.  Normally, the back seats cover the storage so it just seems like one more thing to have to deal with when retrieving something needed.

Curious if anyone has a solution for accessing aftermarket underseat storage without the ability to flip up the rear seats due to carseats. I was thinking of something with an amount of elasticity to keep it in place rather than the delivered straps?

This is my 1st Chevy since 2001. 2021 Silverado LT 2500HD, Z71 Double Cab LWB.

I have the GM all weather mats front and back. I would like to put a under seat storage in the back seat area. Is there any storage units that will work with the all weather mat in back. I do not know how the storage unit mounts, I do not want to cut the mat to fit around a storage unit.

Thanks Scott in Texas

I have three kids with car/booster seats and needed a way to access the storage without lifting the seat. I found a youtube video by "zero to awesome" that showed him making a cabinet with drawers that pull out of the sides for his raptor. I used his concept and made one of my own to fit the sierra. I know this isn't an option for everyone but if you have the means to build it maybe try that, it has worked a treat for me.

I'm looking to replace my stock storage box with a larger aftermarket one in my 2020 crew cab. I've looked at several that are larger but do not have the mounts for the jack and tools as the stock one. Anyone have any suggestions to which is a good replacement???

I purchased a Husky under seat storage box for my 2021 3500 GMC Sierra. I can't tell you if it is bigger than the stock box, but it does have the mounts for the jack and tools. That is how it is held in place is with the jack mounts. I just cut some notches out on either side to go over the lip on the floor mats. Looks nice. I can also get the small stuff out without lifting the seats. There might be about 2.5" to 3" from the top of the box to the bottom of the seat. I also have small hands, so that helps. 😆 I am happy with the Husky though.
