I've recently acquired my first 2500HD.  It came with LED headlights and they appear to be a non-serviceable unit.  Where the dust-plug would normally be found on the housing, it is sealed.   Are these things supposed to last forever?

In all seriousness,  I'm not happy with the light output of the stock headlights.   The are a nice color at 5500-6000K, but just not a lot of output.   My plan was to replace with some quality HIDs like I did in my 2014 1500, but now I'm wondering.   Has anyone seen a replacement setup that would work on an OEM LED equipped truck?

I don't have an answer to your question, but I'm surprised they don't have enough output for you. I have a GMC, but they are extremely bright, I've never even had a thought about them being an issue. Are the Chevy lights that different?

i have a 2020 HC with LED and they are bright enough for me...i have been know to change to HIDs in previous vehicles and have had no itch to touch these lights...i even put HIDs on my polaris sportsman

Because of the "need to replace the whole thing so they'd better last forever" aspect of the LED headlights, I bought and installed this set of precut PPF to help avoid scratches, chips, etc

LED Headlight PPF kit

Edit: Oh and I think the forward lighting brightness is just fine.   But when turning corners, the side illumination is non existent.   That's my problem with the stock LEDs.

Oh that makes sense. You are right, they don't have a very wide spread. I assume these headlights are still adjustable, do they have side to side adjustment screws to pull them out a bit more?
