You know what the cure is for your anxiety is don’t you? Bring it back here. There are choices right now, buy made in the USA.

Why make the consumer pay for it? I’m past anxiety I’m just watching what we voted for.

What Trump has done with these tariffs is basically put a tax on Americans. And by Canada and Mexico retaliating we are also now paying more. Reading this morning than China is planning to sue the USA for the increased tariff they now have.

As far as anything in the way of drugs and people coming from Canada Trump is pretty much lying to America. Other than a small portion of the Washington /BC border less than 1% of fentanyl and pre curser drugs are coming into US from Canada. And some south of Montreal into New York state. the vast majority, 66% of Fentanyl coming into US is coming via Mexico/China and the rest is directly from China itself. Canada in the last two months has basically spent 1.4 billion on drones helicopters and more police to patrol the US border  and are pretty much finding nothing.

I know a vast number of Americans do not know about our border, In fact very little about Canada at all.  You have to imagine this border, in most places were I live on the prairies it is not a lot different than watching a old cowboy movie. Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba is pretty much bald ass prairie, bordering Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota. So unless you can hide behind a blade of grass police are going to find you. or the wolves might. And unless you are going to swim the Great lakes most of Ontario is cut off. The problem areas are the west of British Columbia because it is forest and have long established smuggling routes between Seattle and Vancouver  (the east part is the Rocky Mountains), eastern Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick areas. Look at a map. These are basically streets, Yes streets. In a lot of areas of the US border with Quebec all the border is is a street. One side is Canada and one side is the US. IN some places the actual border goes along foundations of buildings. So if you are in your front yard you are in Canada and if you walk to the back yard you are in US. Absolutely crazy. For years there has been major smuggling across this area. Between Quebec and Vermont. Even things as simple as cigarettes because Quebec is one of the highest taxed areas of North America and Vermont is on of the lowest taxed areas of North America.

In fact right now more people are trying to get into Canada to avoid being shipped out by Trump!  But even this is a very small percentage. Trump is saying this is about drugs but it is way more than that with Canada. He has this idea that Canada is taking advantage of the US because of the trade imbalance right now. But most of that trade imbalance is because the US is getting so much Oil from Canada. Over 60% right now. If you take oil out of the equation it is very close to even.

I will not lie, Canada and Canadians are feeling very pissed this morning. That the USA could do this to one of there biggest trading partners and allies and friends and family my grandfather was from Oklahoma There are so many cases of Canadians with American family members. In Airdrie were I live there is actually a road call ed Yankee Valley. That is because in the 1920's many of the farms in the are were started by Americans coming to Canada. Everything from WW1, WW2, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya the Balkans, Canadians have fought beside Americans and died with Americans. On September 11th, we help shut down the skies over North America, We had fighter jets patrolling border areas with the US, We housed stranded Americans in our homes until they could go home when the borders opened again. More recently we sent crews to help clean up New Orleans from Katrina and this month we had water bombers fighting the fires in Los Angeles. Because that is what friends do for each other.

I could easily answer this but. We’ve been told to cool it. We should do just that.

It is what it is, we just need to accept it and move on.  To many in the upper society tier corporate world are not going to do anything to lessen what is deposited in their bank accounts.

Currently $2.87 for regular here.

    • I don't wanna do major surgery/upgrades, behind-the-dash work, add amps, change radio etc. on my '26 std cab WT. On the WT, it has the base 7" IOR infotainment setup, and only two speakers (doors). Since I listen to classical, looked around for speakers that do well and dug thru reviews. Two-way speakers were found to be better than 3-way. So I've ordered a pair of  Infinity Reference REF-9632IX 2 way speakers.  [These may  or may not have been discontinued / succeeded by the 3-way ...9633 ones.]    These speakers are lauded for 3 ohm and 94db sensitivity spec so they'll work well for ordinary base car radios without amps and offer better performance (quality,  strength) than  default base paper-cone speakers. They'll be installed in a few days and I'll let y'all know what I think. Bill W San Jose
    • Thanks!   Changed out the rear shocks today to Bilstein 5100s.  So far feel much better. The stock Rancho were wore out.  Lots of heavy hauling (2 moves, home renovations, etc).  Next up is new BFG tires Monday.  Cant wait the current tires have little to no wet traction and are super loud (hum)
    • Ok, I got the all the codes. What do you all think would be a place to start?
    • How about I just point to the factory pans stand pipe little drain plug and claim its a pan with a real drain plug !. I just couldn't swallow the fact that a Dorman pan which at this point is probably the only pan out there that fits the gas version truck cost that much up here in Canada so I decided initially anyway to skip it and see what I thought of pulling the pan method and down the road if I felt inclined enough then I would either install a drain plug kit in the factory pan if there is enough room for it, or have a bung welded onto it, or put an aftermarket pan on. The thing is if the pan is not pulled then the magnets in the pan can't be inspected and cleaned or if wanting to change out the filter. However of course it certainly would make the job easier to be able to drop the oil first before having to handle the pan if dropping the pan that go around was the goal.    I knew a guy locally that was doing custom field spraying years ago with a pickup pulling a ground driven sprayer, I believe it was a GM pickup with an automatic trans. He had a drain plug in his pan and would drop the oil out of it once a week and top it back up through the dipstick tube to keep refreshing a portion of the oil often and that made the transmission last far longer than had he done nothing. Soft fields pulling 500 gallons of water at the start of each mixed up sprayer tank batch and in low range sucking along. I imagine he got some tips from other custom sprayer outfits doing the same thing at the time and learning from their blown up tranny mistakes. Transmissions then had no lock up converter so would cook the crap out of the fluid slipping that much and it would not have been synthetic fluid either.
