Well I took the ZR2 to the local 1/8 mile track tonight. The conditions weren't ideal being that it was 90° and humid but she did pretty good. The only mod is the GMPP Borla S-type exhaust. My best time was a 9.62 and I was able to hold my own with this vette!

I was able to do a 9.87 in similar conditions 2 years ago, like 85 degrees and 90% humidity. It just wanted to spin off the line so I had to leave in 4AUTO. My trucks a 5.3 though.

You had quicker response off the line.  Vette caught flat footed.  Congrats on the time.

Actually the vette had a better reaction time. .6689 and I had a .9784. These trucks are terrible to launch. If you brake tq them they bog, and when you just release the brake and stop the gas there is a delay. I always leave when the last yellow lights up but you almost have to leave before it.20220616_073649.thumb.jpg.32918f5d4f20585de6f5c6fdba2ac4bf.jpg

Were you in sport mode and AUTO?  My best times and launches have always come

from those to combos.  Nice run and truck sounds good.

Thanks! Unfortunately the ZR2 does not have sport mode. I was in 4auto with traction and advanced trac off.

The Vette had a near 2.9 second 60' which is HORRIBLE, with a good driver you'll see 1.9 60's from the Vette, which will knock a minimum of 1.0-1.3 seconds off the big end.  Don't let that detract from your trucks performance though, the truck had a great run and it sounds really good!

PS, AUTO 4WD and traction control turned off are your biggest helps when drag racing the truck.  It should dang near hole-shot everything out there.  Peoples reactions when you put 2 cars on them in the first 100' is awesome, its just the remaining 1220 feet of track they drag your ass down that isn't quite as fun :).

Especially below, at, and reasonably around sea level.  That’s why I wish TFLTruck would go to sea level and do drag races some times. The ecobust has such an advantage in higher elevations.  Reading the comments the Ford fanboys always gloat.  I just chuckle.

Ha, I think the same thing! We are right around 600'-700' above sea level.

I’ve never had an issue racing an ecobust or 5.0L. Neighbor at my old house had 5.0 and bragged how fast it was.  It was decent but not a 6.2L.  They just “pull” so well all the way till they hit the limiter. I’m at 1100 here in Iowa.
Now a Raptor is another story. But they are geared differently and that helps them.  A Ram Hemi is no contest. Buddy has had 2. After first one he refuses to race again. And new one is ETorque. Doesn’t help anyways.

If GM had retuned the refresh to 450+ HP I would have jumped on the high trade in value and got one. Just didn’t do enough for ME personally.  I don’t mind interior of my truck. It suffices!

My '21 6.2 Trail Boss would eat 5.0's for lunch on the street light to light. It also felt faster than this ZR2, but I only have 1200 miles on it so it will probably losen up some.

I would have been happy to keep the TB, but the dealer offered me almost 7,000 more than I paid for the truck on trade. I would have been foolish to keep it.
