Can't say enough good things about the refeshed 2024 2500 HD LT (6.6 gas) that I have had for a whole two weeks now.  Coming from a 2022 Ram 2500 Tradesman (6.4 gas), the ride and mileage (may be a bit premature but looks good so far) are way better and no more wandering all over the highway constantly correcting with the steering wheel.  The Rams are nice trucks (actually all the manufacturers make good trucks now) and all you ever hear is how nice the Rams ride compared to the competition.  Well I can tell you that the 2024 HD LT gas truck rides way better than the Ram 2500 gasser.  The Allison 10 speed trans is seamless and seems to keep the truck in the middle of the power band.  Have not filled up my first tank of gas yet but with the trip computer I am getting between 13 and 14 in town and 16 to 18 on the highway (both unloaded).  Hope I am not disappointed when I hand calculate the average MPG.  I like the LT as it seems to be the best value given the number of standard features that come with that trim option.  Bought the truck as we plan to purchase a travel trailer and can't wait to see how this rig tows.  Just wanted share what a great truck this is and hope it will be as reliable as I think it will be.

Same comments here from my 2024 LT as well. Love it! I spy some Classic Chev plates. You in DFW? I live out in Weatherford and picked mine up from Jerry's Chevrolet.

I did buy it from Classic Chevrolet.  I live in Brock so you are my neighbor. :)

Nice! If you see a summit white 2024 CC running around with some bucees stickers  say hi.

I use mine to tow my 32' TT bumper pull. I had a 2021 gmc 6.6 gasser with the 6 speed and she towed our trailer flawlessly. I upgraded to the 10 speed because I was looking for a little "more" out of the towing experience and I know I'll get it.

Will be on the look out for you.  I bought the truck to potentailly tow about a 30' bumper pull TT in the range of 7 to 8k lbs.  I am sure it will do just fine.  Can't wait.  Glad to know you had no problems pulling with your previous truck.  The new trans should really improve the experience.

Yes sir. My TT is 9500lbs unloaded - roughly 11800lbs loaded and my 2021 6.6 gasser towed it with ease.

Your mileage is spot on with mine as well after about 600 miles on the odometer.

Nice chat - I too have been around the bases at different times just to be sure what I wanted to believe was actually true for me and it was. Some 10 years ago I said that's it - It's Chevy for me if for nothing else the ride alone for a heavy truck. One thing they got right, a long time ago, was the independent front/torsion setup.

friend of mine stopped by today with his hotrod Mustang he just got, went for a ride. Felt like I was in a track ready touring sedan race car, rigid af but beautiful piece of automobile. Then we took the truck for a ride, I had him drive. He was blown away. He said, "this is like riding around in my recliner in the family room but a 3/4 ton version".... I can't overstate how amazing it is that they can build a real horse with this kind of feel.

And with the trans - I swear, it's almost like the smoothest CVT ever. Power doesn't seem any different than the 6.0 to me and mileage? Well, we don't buy em for mileage, they're all going to suck .... nothing is free, especially power.

can't get enough of good vibes - and I think the Chevy is prettier than the Jimmy. I want that chrome hood trim piece from the Chevy. I assume it can be changed?....

Driving styles aside, that's about the economy I get on my '23. Hand calculations are pretty consistently 1 MPG less. Nice-looking truck!

Yeah multiple reports show the 10spd and 6spd get the same mileage. I’d think with 4 more speeds GM could have massaged a solid 2-3mpg out of it by doing deeper overdrives and having it chug along at like 1,300 on the freeway but I’m not an engineer.

I'm noticing my city driving is a little better with the 10 speed to the tune of 1-3 mpgs better. Quicker shifts and keeping the engine in the powerband I can chug along at a lower rpm.

Highway driving same rpm with the 10 speed as the 6 speed, so no mileage gains at all.
