My retirement truck got more expensive

Well after further thought I decided to go with Red LT Crew Standard bed instead of the work truck. I thought maybe I should get things like the rear slider, so I can have pass through on my bed cap and bucket seats with lumbar. I know my back will thank me. For the extra 5 grand I will get the updated interior which will help if I decided to sell. I guess some of the safety features will be a good thing, remote start and rear seat storage will be nice but if we could line item choose there would be a lot I could do without. I chose the Gideon interior, its looks good on the computer. Does anyone have that. How u like it. A buddy of mine told me to get power folding mirrors, so now u can see how I spent 5 grand in the blink of eye.. My dealer just got the allotment so I had to decide. $60.595

I have a 2024 LTZ with the Gideon/Very Dark interior and I love it. Images online make it appear more gray than it actually is. It's got more khaki and brown tones than the configurator shows on my computer screen.

I will be looking forward to the thread titled “ it got even more expensive, I’m going to get a LTZ therefore I’m not retiring yet” next week sir. Haha

My last 3 trucks( 2018 Double cab 1500, 2021 crew 3500, 2024 crew 3500) have been LT models with the "all star" package plus whatever towing options available (both the 3500's were Z71)

Around here this config seems to be the sweet spot as far as resale and for me has all the content I need.

I like the Custom config but I absolutely cannot drive long distances without a tilt and telescopic steering column. AT this point the trucks see only a small amount of local use, its primary use is on trips with the RV.

Since the truck is getting more expensive anyway, and we're helping to spec out your retirement / travel truck, and you need nice seat features for co-pilot --- I hear the massaging seats are nice.

Your back would probably REALLY LIKE the massaging seats. (you'll have to switch to a high trim Sierra)

I drove my buddies expedition to Florida and I started complaining about my lower back so he says turn on the massage system. Wow was that nice, never thought I like something like that

I have one of those heated massage seat cushions. It’s portable I use when the old back acts up. I have a separate one that just massages without the heat option.

I really wanted that Gideon interior but the way they have these option packages set up I couldnt get it. I think it had something to do with the Z71 Sport Edition. My truck, that should be coming into the dealer anyday now, lol, will be my retirement truck too. It started out pretty simple and then.... $68,000 later. I am fortunate, and blessed to work for GM so I do get a little discount and my dealer here doesn't gouge any extra so it could be worse I guess.

AMEN Fishfighter!!!! I am trying not to count the days down, I dont want to get caught up into that but it will be before the end of the year for me to retire. 38 years, its time for the new chapter to start. I will be putting my ass in this new truck seat for a whole new reason everyday, camping, kayaking, hiking, fishing and just getting lost in the woods.
