I haven’t had but 2 oil users since the 90s. Even those two would go to 5 to 7K oil changes without getting too low. With all the sensors on new vehicles. There isn’t one for low oil, like say two quarts?

Many of the newer vehicles don't have oil level sensors on the engines.  Manufacturers are only putting an oil pressure sensor on the engine, and when that puts a light on your dashboard, its too late.

Thanks for all the input, Since Im in canada, We use KM not MI, so 6000 Km = 3728 Miles.

Once again, 1 L usage for 3728 Miles, Normal?

That would be well within GM's accepted limit range of 1 quart in 2000mi/3218km.

There are also many factors that can change that too.  Towing, brand of oil used (some could use more, others less), fuel, idling, heavy right foot, etc.

How many total kms on your 2021 L3B?

When did you last change your air filter?
Ever change your plugs?
What engine oil brand( chemistry to me) do you run?

Unfortunately with these 2.7L it seems to be a common issue. My 2.7 has around 116,****** miles on it. And I consistently burn between 1 and 1.75 quarts per oil change. I try to change the oil every 5000 miles or around 30% on the OLM. I keep an extra quart in my truck and top it off every few thousand miles as needed.

I had a couple of cars in the 70's that used a qt of oil every 500 miles. A qt or 2 between oil changes doesnt concern me. Of course I check my oil regularly also. Why some people think they dont have to is beyond me but so is a $7 cup of coffee.  Considering how the modern internal combustion engine operates I am surprised its not considerably more.

My first job before working in the family business was pumping gas in NJ. You couldn’t pump your own. The routine was checking air in the tires, windshield cleaning and checking oil. All before your tank got full. The oil was right at the pump. And people mostly paid in cash. You could tell which cars were turned by the tail pipes. Gas was leaded. Oil using was normal engines ran dirty. Unless you were a gear head most vehicles ran out of tune. Usually were done or closed to it at 100K miles. In contrast my brother in law was at my house this weekend with his 08 Yukon with almost 300K miles. Nothing but maintenance.

I’m old and repeat sometimes. Not as bad as my mother, yet. Repeat you want? Follow the oil threads.

My dealer service mgr says the PCV system is too “ strong “ for the design. I’ll take a qt in 5000 miles and run the RLI 5w30

thats $3.50 a qt and getting good wear and combustion readings.
I purchased a 1978 J20 Jeep and it’s using no oil. 360 V8 I think.

Yes, Ive been running the RLI 5W30. I'm at around 4200 miles on current oil change, and I've only added about 1/3 quart of oil this interval. And it still looks nice and amber when I check it on the dipstick. Pretty good stuff!
