I finalized my order the other day and GM accepted the order the day it was submitted.  The sales rep said that was the fastest he has ever seen an order accepted.  Now my waiting starts.  I still have a truck that I enjoy so not too bad.

Production in Flint has been back to 5 days per week for a few weeks and will likely stay that way. Shipping still seems to be a choke point also.

The rollout of the mechanical refresh and the new Dmax for 27 is rumored to be moved back until 28. The new Dmax will have to wait since the size requires changes to the existing truck.

Hooey!  I pick up my 2025 tomorrow!  What are the new duramax changes you mention?  I am guessing, with my luck, the new one will have 5000 ftlbs, and get 45 mpg, and no DEF, right?

Take good care of your new 2025. None of the changes coming are good imho

Reminds me of my friend ordering a Camaro in April of 2023. He didn't get it until October.

Lots of 'excuses' along the way. It apparently was built in the summer but sat in Lansing for months. His dealer was a couple of hours north of Oshawa.

Considering the issues pickup production faced (they were storing incomplete trucks all over Durham Region) in 2023, my guess was his Camaro was built but incomplete.

I told him I would've walked on it. He's never owned a sporty car in his life & I think it was more of a mid life crisis thing. We had both turned 61 in 2022.

I ordered a 2025 3500 AT4 the second week of November and got the "order received" email from GM on 11/27.  The last week of December, my dealer told me it had been produced and gave me a VIN.  GM's chatbot hasn't updated beyond "moving toward the production process," so it's definitely not accurate.

Yesterday, I transferred to a live agent from the chatbot--the agent confirmed it's been produced but had no other updates.  She said they no longer release event codes to customers because it causes confusion.  My dealer simply says they'll know more once it's shipped.  I'm excited to get it--a couple of weeks with no updates feels like a long time

What's the experience here wrt time between production and shipping?  I'm sure GMC wants to get these shipped and invoiced asap after production.  I'm sure there are reasons for the delay between production and shipping, but it's very opaque even to the dealer.

Ordered my 25 LTZ diesel dually in late October from Idaho dealer with allocation.  They called me this past friday telling me the truck was here.

Congrats!

I got an email from GM today 1/20/25 saying "vehicle has shipped from factory" and is "on the way to your dealership."  This matches with a text I got on Friday from FreightVerify with event code 4200 "Departed from - Rail".  FWIW, my truck bounced between 4200 and 4300 as it moved around from the yard to the upfitter shop.

When I get it, I'll post a summary of the timing that might be helpful to others.

My truck arrived at the dealer yesterday and I'll pick it up next week.  Here's a recap of the timing--hopefully it is helpful if you're waiting:

11/8/2024--Gave my dealer the build sheet from the GM site

11/18/2024--Dealer sent the order sheet it was submitting for review/approval.  There was a little delay here because the person doing the ordering went on vacation

11/22/2024--Dealer told me order was accepted by GM and gave me a target production date the week of 12/16/2024

11/27/2024--GM email:  "order has been received for production."

12/26/24--Dealer told me truck has been built and gave me the VIN

1/14/2025--GM email: "ready to ship from factory."  Dealer sent me a screen capture showing status as "Bayed 4B Plant Yard Flint (FF)"

1/15/25--Dealer signed me up for text updates from FreightVerify. I think all the status codes have the trailing two zeros removed:

First text "Departed from - Truck (42)" (which I think means 4200 "Shipped")

Second text "Bayed Ready (4B)"

Third text "Truck Delivery at Intermediate Location (43); Location: Upfitter B.Shop-GFX"

1/17/2025 FreightVerify text "Departed from - Rail (42)"

1/20/2025 GM email "vehicle has shipped from the factory"

1/31/25 FreightVerify text "Delivery - Rail (48); Location: VDC Milpitas CA; ETA to Dealer: 2/6/25"

2/5/25 Dealer notifies me truck has arrived and they are doing predelivery prep

How long does it take for them to accept the order?  My dealer has been trying for three weeks now, and apparently they are only building diesel trucks right now?  And without gooseneck hitches?  I didn't know there were those kind of stipulations on getting a truck built.

Could be parts issues.

I have seen in the past restrictions on options. Usually @ the start of the model year.

Today I received two emails from GMC.  First that my truck had been produced and then about an hour later that my truck is being prepared for delivery.  Yesterday, I came across an article that said GM and Jack Cooper are now in negotiations and Jack Cooper has stopped shipping vehicles.  It mentioned that Corvettes were being pulled off of trucks as a result.  I wonder if this will affect my delivery time.  My vehicle was produced in Flint, I believe, and my dealership is not that far away.

Today is Feb. 10 and I submitted my order on Jan 13.  The same day I ordered it was accepted by GM.  This is for a 3500 Denali, diesel, with fifth wheel prep.

Here is my timeline for a 2025 GMC Denali 2500HD:

December 16   Ordered truck and paid deposit.

December 19   Order submitted by dealer.

January 15       Order accepted by GM with target production week of February 10

(Dealer claimed to have allocation, so I'm not sure why it took three weeks for order to be accepted)

February 6       Received email from GM "preparing to build your GMC"

February 11      No further update

February 12     Email stating "ready to ship from factory"

February 14     Email stating "vehicle has shipped from the factory. GMC bot still says "vehicle has

                         been produced" and awaiting shipment

I ordered mine on 8/26/24. Got it on 10/20/24. Course this was a 1500. Dealer allocation and constraint play a part.

How are you guys getting e-mails from GM about the progress of your order/builds?  Is that something I would need to sign up for?

I ordered a '25 3500 long box Denali Ultimate on 2/10 and the dealer told me tentative production week was 3/3/25.

thanks,

Just check periodically with your dealer.  You can try the GMC chat thingy on the GMC website if you want, but your dealer would have the most real time info on it.

Once it is built and ships the dealer can also track it in real time with the tracker GM came out with for dealers a few years back.

I'd check back with them the end of next week to see if it got built or not.
