Just looking to what the outcome of your visit to GM was. If you would please only respond if you have completed this recall, feel free to respond with year and mileage.

Mine was completed just a bit ago. Passed the test and they changed the oil. They have to order the oil cap. There was NO extra warranty included according to the dealership. So there is the end of that rumor too I suppose.

There is an extended warranty. See attached.

I understand that it was there, I was just saying what the dealership said when I asked about it. I was told no extension. Maybe it's something GM itself will add? I can only relay what I was told. Granted my truck fell under the 0000 recall. Not sure if that matters or not. According to My Chevrolet, the recall is still open. Maybe due to the fact they had to order the cap. LOL

It will show here if they recall was performed. A record like this exists for EVERY vehicle.

Do I have access to that? I just look on My Chevrolet and see it still lists an uncompleted recall.

I am still waiting on the cap to be provided as they had to order it but other than that, the test and oil change was completed.

Every dealer does but not the owners.........its a complete history of the vehicle from the build date.

One thing you got to realize with dealer staff is that its just a job to them and often times they only know and do what they are told. So asking them may be a waste of time.  Heck I was taking with a good friend who is GMC salesman for some 20+ yrs and he had no idea about the 6.2L engine problems.  Got more important things to worry about, making next sales, family etc. Sells cars is just a job, not passion.

So now my recall shows as complete. No where under my list of warranties does it show the engine had any special coverage. The only warranty on the PT is the normal 5yr/60K miles. Granted, I paid for an service plan through Knapp and Im covered til 2031 or 99950 miles.

Got my actual recall letter yesterday even though it's complete lol. It said I had the extended warranty so I decided to go look again. Yep, there it was. So I am covered for 7.5 more years and 120K more miles on the engine for that failure.

Thanks for the update. Got my truck in late June of '21 and I haven't received the letter yet.
