Puddle Lamps

I purchased a new 1500 short crew last weekend. I am really impressed with this truck, its what I've been waiting for a crew cab that will fit in my 20' deep garage. But I did notice that the General has been deleting those "little things" that I like. The glove box light is missing, no more cloth on the upper part of the door panels, and the one that irritates me the most, no puddle lamps in the power fold mirrors. I had an '03 extended cab with power fold mirrows and they had puddle lamps. Anyone else noticed this?

Yeah, there was a thread about it a while back.

 

The main thing that I miss, is the underhood light that my 92 has. It's a little bubble looking thing that has a retractable cord. I can pull this little light out, and it will reach all the way past the opposite corner of the truck....One of the most handy things I think they ever came up with.

 

I'll have to remember to pull that thing out before I sell that truck.

Don't you miss the strips that go along the bodyside too? As in, all the way to the rear wheels?. Sooo cheap not to put the stuff onto the box in front of the rear wheels. I dunno where you park, but the ones on my '01 come in handy if you back in beside lil ricers.

 

Lites in the cab... I was giving mine a big-time vacuuming tonight before I installed new catch-all floormats (in the dark...) Bonked the dash with the vac hose and: this light came on for the passenger floor under the dash. I hadn't ever seen it before. 3 years. I guess the bulb should be OK for now

What is a puddle lamp

The light under the mirrors that some cars have. They come on when you open the door so you can see if there is water/ice/a rabid mongoose/a big puddle at your feet.

You know, I do that all the time. Seems everytime I get out of the truck I step on a rabid mongoose. Didn't know they ever made a light so I could see it.

I am soooooo glad that none of the mongoose's in my area have shown up with rabies yet. Stepped on three of 'em just last week. And I have a puddle lamp, too!! Had a brand new $25.00 pair of Levi's shredded by the little beggers each time.

Just wondering. Neither of mine have them, and I figured that the 02 would...Being as it's an LT....I don't think I'm missing many options.

My 03 SLT does not have them either. I don't have the power folding mirrors tho.

This reminds me, the other night, I stepped on a Badger that came from a broken home, a rabid mongoose, a crosseyed coy dog, and my girlfriend's neighbors cat! All during the 25 ft. walk to her door. At least I didn't have to step in the snow with all the varmints running loose.

The real mean ones are the leprosy laden tree lemurs of southern Lithuania.

 

I stepped on one of those back in 91.

 

He put my shoes in a tall a$$ tree when he finally let go of my leg.

 

Mean little ba$tard....I miss those shoes.
