You probably have 3.23 gears. 3.73 or even 4.10 gears would fix the off the line power issue to some extent. 4.10s would probably cost you some fuel economy though.

Ya i do have 3.23's... Thats a good start, ill look into some new gears!! And is it better to get a programmer or a complete tune???

You will feel better results from a custom tune, but a "hand held tune" is convenient should you need to take it in for warranty work.

What can I expect from a hand held tune?

The Edge programmer tightens up the shifting and makes the engine feel more responsive... that's on the "economy" tune. I haven't used the "Extreme" tune yet (which needs 91 octane). Fuel economy is also increased by the programmer, my fuel economy improved by about 2mpg (from 11mpg to 13mpg).

i didn't think the dealer could tell if it was a custom tune??

Of course they can tell, the stock programming is over-written with the custom tune. The nice thing about handheld programmers is that you can revert it to the stock tune before taking it to the dealership.

When you look into getting new gears let me know of the cost and then the site and model you find. It would be greatly appreciated.

They can't tell. But, if you go in for a problem they can inadvertently flash over your tune wiping it out.

I saw ZERO improvement in MPGs with my Edge. I ran both the Economy and Extreme tunes on 91 octane and when I went back to stock, I ran 89 octane and my mileage stayed exactly the same through 2 tanks of gas on stock/89 octane.

It does improve the shifting though. It also helps the throttle response, but it does not eliminate the lag due to GMs "Nannies".

My vote is for custom tune all the way. (see my sig).

Ya, i am really start to think i should go with the custom tune! Cause this is my first BRAND NEW truck and i plan on makin it my last one for many years i hope! So everything i do or buy for the truck i want it to be the best and exactly what i want, not a compramise!

I don't know what to tell you. I was getting 13mpg stock, then I installed a levelling kit and my mileage dropped to 11mpg. As soon as I installed the Edge Economy tune, it jumped back up to 13mpg.

Maybe you started hammering the gas pedal harder after the tune?
